When art imitates life! Charlize Theron says she can curse just a good as the boys, and reveals her new role didn't take much acting at all

By Mail Online Reporter

Charlize Theron is known for her quick witted sense of humour.

But it's the dark and dramatic roles that the 38-year-old South African-born actress is best known for.

In her first turn at comedy, and a 'come back' of sorts, Charlize takes on the role of a mysterious - and potty mouthed new woman in town, in Seth MacFarlane's A Million Ways To Die In The West.

Charlize admitted to The Sydney Morning Herald  that she could proudly hold her own against the opposite sex in the gutter-mouth stakes.

'Trust me, I had a couple of moments with Seth on this film where he was like, ‘Whaaat did you say?' So I think women are way more crude than guys!'

'It's the first time I saw it for myself on screen, too,' she said.

'It's the closest thing in some moments I've seen to me, and I thought, 'S***, I've done a horrible job here because I can totally see me!''

Having won an Oscar for her portrayal of a real-life serial killer in Monster, she said comedy was always something she wanted to explore: 'I don't think if this came to me 10 years ago that I would have been able to do with it what I did. So I guess everything comes at the right time.'

This week the beautiful blonde flexed her funnies again, returning to Saturday Night Live after 14-years since her first appearance.

Charlize sported a range of retro looks for her skits, and even sang about her inability to sing.

'I know I'm not perfect... let's sing a song about that,' said the Oscar-winner.

From there, the entire cast burst into a Broadway style song about how Charlize is a terrible singer, but - as she confesses towards the end - she's 'never had bad sex'.

No doubt her new beau, actor Sean Penn and young son Jackson loved their lady showing her funny side to the world.
