Alpine skier Aleksandra Frantseva wins 12th gold medal for Russia

Russia's Alpine skier has won a Paralympics gold medal in the women’s visually impaired slalom.

Silver went to Great Britain’s Jade Etherington, who finished just 0.65 seconds behind Frantseva, and Slovakia's Henrieta Farkasova won bronze (+1.70), as reported by Interfax.

For Aleksandra Frantseva, who was born in Kamchatka Krai, it is medal number three here in Sochi. Previously, she won super-G silver and downhill bronze.

This medal has become Russia's 35th medal at the Games in Sochi. The Russian team now have 12 gold, 14 silver and 9 bronze medals. Our country still leads in the unofficial medal standings.
