Wilkinson was an obsessive who had to be the best throughout his glorious career
SIR CLIVE WOODWARD: It takes a particular character to pick up the ball and carry the team's hopes on your shoulders alone. Jonny Wilkinson never shied away from it. His professionalism, his character and everything he stood for in the game rubbed off on all of us.

SMACK! Ma'afu says 'he owes Youngs a pint' after landing brutal punch on rival
Tom Youngs and Salesi Ma'afu have traded blows once more following their scrap during Northampton Saints' 21-20 victory over fierce local rivals Leicester Tigers. The pair were involved in a punch-up during their heated Aviva Premiership semi-final encounter which saw Ma'afu sent off for his attack on Youngs, who was sin binned for his involvement, at Franklin's Gardens on Friday.

SIR CLIVE WOODWARD: Schoolboy trophy puts Woodhouse boys on road to World Cup
A day trip to Woodhouse Grove highlighted for me the value and debt we owe to schools rugby in England. To see the enthusiasm and pride in Grove's achievement in winning the inaugural Daily Mail Schools Trophy was truly uplifting. No doubt one or two of the Trophy-winning squad may yet go on to play professional rugby, following in the footsteps of ex-pupils led by Wasps wing Paul Sampson, full-back Dan Scarbrough (Wakefield, Leeds, Saracens, Racing Metro) and scrum-half Joe Bedford (Leeds,Newport Gwent Dragons, Doncaster).
Woodhouse Grove romp to Daily Mail Trophy title after 12-match streak
Just champion! That's Woodhouse Grove, the first-ever winners of the Daily Mail Schools Trophy. And to celebrate their success, the Bradford-based school, who were presented with the trophy by World-Cup winning coach Sir Clive Woodward, finished off their unbeaten campaign with one of their most complete performances of the autumn.

The Daily Mail Schools Trophy is a wonderful new take on the oldest thing in sport: rivalry.
