Collection in Prince William V Gallery
During the ongoing expansion and renovation of the Mauritshuis, more than 100 Masterpieces from the Mauritshuis will be on display at the Gemeentemuseum The Hague. Another part of the collection is displayed in the Prince William V Gallery. The Mauritshuis will open on 27 June 2014.
Prince William V Gallery, a princely collection
Around 150 paintings from the Mauritshuis hang in the Prince William V Gallery. They are mainly by Dutch and Flemish masters such as Steen, Potter, van Mieris, van Honthorst and Rubens. Together they give an impression of Stadholder William V’s eighteenth-century collection of paintings as well as of the splendour and luxury of a royal collection.
