Information Services

Objectives

  • To disseminate and transmit knowledge information and data on the State
  • To provide center for reference, education and information of dissemination of information relevant to the economic, historical, social, cultural, political and other background development and achievement of the State
  • To hold and participate in exhibition or display of library resources and the information or data collected, maintained or held by the State Library
  • To promote or stimulate interest on reading, library works and to promote literacy arts and the usage of modern technology in the transmission and dissemination of knowledge, information and data
  • To facilitate the dissemination of knowledge and information, the appreciation of arts, culture, traditions, history and achievements of the State and its people
  • To provide such services and facilities as the State Library is able to provide to the public and to any public library or resource center and to provide training for library personnels

Business Information Service Unit

Objectives

  • Meeting the information needs of users effectively and efficiently through Pro-Access Services within a specified and agreed time frame
  • Furnishing user´s information request of Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Services or Document Delivery Services (DDS) effectively and efficiently within maximum timeframe of 10 workings day for locally available materials or 30 working days for materials available overseas
  • Providing information Repackaging Services effectively and efficiently within maximum timeframe of 5 working days from the date receiving the request 

 

Reference Services Unit

Objectives

  • Providing an efficient circulation services within 1 minute per transaction
  • Providing discussion room facilities booking and renting services within 5 minute per transaction
  • Managing membership registration and renewal within 5 minute per transaction
  • Participating or organizing children´s activities at least 50 times a year


Online And Information Literacy Skills Unit

Objectives

  • Providing an efficient Reference Desk Service during Pustaka´s opening hours with immediate response and provision of first level reference queries requested information within 1 working day
  • Conducting User Education Session according to specified module 
  • To develop and expand the library´s electronic outreach in support of information literacy initiatives. 
  • Provides online research guides to enhance user skills in using and navigating online database
  • Provides Current Awareness Services to informs users about new acquisitions in Pustaka
  • Provides Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) in which librarians choose information that may be of interest to users and forward it to them before the users request it.
