Forget working up a sweat at a fancy gym.

Instead Emily Blunt is getting a workout lugging all her heavy baby equipment around.

And as the actress stepped out with little Hazel on Wednesday, she found herself juggling her car seat and a loaded diaper bag.

With her tot sat snugly in a carrier, protected from the sun, the new mother certainly gave her arms a work out.

The 31-year-old was seen placing her four-month-old daughter into a waiting car after enjoying a sunny play date in Van Nuys, California.

The Devil Wears Prada star- who is married to actor John Krasinski - looked comfy in a long cotton tunic over grey skinny jeans, showing off her slim legs.

She swept her golden brown locks into a neat chignon and donned a beautiful pair of tortoiseshell cat-eye sunglasses.

For practicality she wore a pare of pale blue trainers on her feet.

With the baby carrier hanging from one arm and a large tote of supplies on the other, the new mum had her hands rather full.

Emily dotes on her new daughter.

'She's just stinking cute. Yeah she's so cute. She came out like ready for a photo shoot,' Emily told Ellen DeGeneres last Wednesday.

'She was like this, just perfect.'

The Looper actress also gushed over her Emmy-nominated husband, whom she calls 'the burp king' and 'the greatest dad.'

Emily said: '[Hazel] loves him, just loves him.'

The Muppets star can currently be seen as Sergeant Rita Vrataski in Doug Liman's action sci-fi flick Edge of Tomorrow opposite Tom Cruise.

And Blunt reunited with her Devil Wears Prada co-star Meryl Streep as the barren Baker's Wife in Rob Marshall's big-screen version of Into the Woods.

The Broadway musical - due out Christmas - intersects several fairytales and features Johnny Depp, Anna Kendrick, and Chris Pine.
