They're two of Hollywood's most popular stars.

So it's not surprising that Matt Damon and Emmy Rossum made quite the splash on Wednesday at the Los Angeles International Airport, appearing to be arriving at the same time by coincidence.

Both stars were separately bombarded by autograph seekers while riding an escalator to the baggage terminal.

Damon, 43, managed to sign memorabilia while riding backwards on the moving automated conveyor as fans surrounded him.

The Good Will Hunting star clutched a pair of headphones and a tablet in one hand as he looked casual but sharp in blue jeans, leather loafers, and a blue jumper.

Completing his attire was a pair of thin framed spectacles and a snap back cap.

Emmy, meanwhile, displayed her lithe legs in a mini skirt as she balanced in black and white buckled shoes.

The 27-year-old pulled a roller case behind her as she wore a stripy top and blue blazer, while hiding her highly recognisable face behind a pair of sunglasses.

Following Comet, Rossum will star opposite Hilary Swank and Josh Duhamel in You're Not You, an emotional indie flick about a self-absorbed college student hired to care for an woman inflicted with ALS.

The actress is also set to return as Fiona Gallagher for the fifth season of television show, Shameless.

She will begin filming the new season of the show in July alongside William H Macy.

Matt Damon is very famous. Those autograph seekers are there because Emmy's publicist called the paps. They knew she would be there. Those guys are not loser, they will sell it. I wonder who is the loser who will buy it.
