On screen she tackles serious dramatic roles in films such as We Need To Talk About Kevin.

But from the look of her outfit, Tilda Swinton could soon be auditioning for a sci-fi fantasy.

The Tilda-nator looked like an extra from The Matrix as she suited up in a white rain mac and trousers, along with trendy reflective shades.

The Scottish actress' 36-year-old  boyfriend Sandro Kopp co-ordinated in a black outfit, reflecting his darker colouring.

The eye-catching pair were snapped as they went for a stroll in New York.

Tilda, 53, led the way as her boyfriend followed behind.

The 5ft11 star met German-born Sandro on the set of 2005's The Chronicles Of Narnia in which she played the White Witch and he the centaur. 

They spend their downtime at their home in Nairn, in the Highland region of Scotland, along with Tilda's twins Honor and Xavier, 17, from a previous relationship.

The pair are currently in the city for work, with Tilda taking the lead on the on the new Judd Apatow comedy Trainwreck.

The movie which also stars SNL's Bill Hader and Last Comic Standing alum Amy Schumer, who also wrote the script. And it has been speculated that actor Sandro could also have a role.

The film is scheduled to hit US theatres in July 2015.
