Her bold new hair colour has been given plenty of outings over the last week as Lily Allen’s return to the London club scene continues in earnest, but it was given a quirky twist on Thursday evening during another appearance at the Chiltern Firehouse.

The precocious 29-year-old opted to maintain her colourful locks with a series of intertwined plaits that coiled across the back of her head, while preserving a heavy red fringe.

Evidently in high spirits, Lily looked rather pleased with her new ‘do as she made an appearance at the popular Marylebone nightspot without her husband, builder Sam Cooper.

A pair of tired looking Nike Air trainers rounded off another memorable ensemble for the pop songstress, whose successful return to music after a five-year hiatus has been heralded by the release of third studio album Sheezus.

Lily completed her look with a large blue bag from Chanel, and the expensive accessory remained curiously open as she sauntered across Chiltern Street.

The previous day Lily had shared her excitement at coming to Australia to support the release of her latest LP during a long-distance interview with Australian breakfast show Sunrise.

'I can't wait, I've always loved coming out to Australia,' she told hosts Sam Armytage and David Koch via a live link from London.

Other guests to make an appearance at the Chiltern Firehouse on Thursday evening included Roxy Music star Bryan Ferry and Amanda Sheppard.

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell was also present after arriving in the company of her new boyfriend, F1 Red Bull boss Christian Horner.

Had a beef Lasagne dinner for two, both with afters and a cup of tea each, £10.99 TOTAL in the Milton Keynes Morrisons today, wouldn't even buy you a starter for one at this overpriced Z list hellhole! Smoked grape for you Geri? Mmmmm! (Christian Horner should take her there instead, it's not far from Red Bull Racing and they do a pensioners special!).
