He's the epitome of a doting father.

And Josh Duhamel loves keeping his mini me son Axl close to his side.

The 41-year-old went shoeless while carrying his little man in his arms as he chatted to a pal outside their Brentwood home on Thursday.

Josh was casually dressed in a backwards navy baseball cap, white T-shirt, olive cargo shorts and barefoot as he jaunted from the house to the driveway.

His nine-month-old son was also barefoot and decked out in a sleeveless T-shirt, black bottoms and fashionably accessorized with a neckerchief.

The handsome actor placed his boy in the palm of his hand while out talking to a friend who sat in their car.

Once the small talk was over, the Safe Haven star clutched Axl tight and made his way back inside the house.

Duhamel is enjoying time with his son since returning from New York with his wife Fergie.

The duo were in the Big Apple to co-host the amfAR Inspiration Gala at the Plaza Hotel on Monday.

Fergie and Josh complemented each other in contrasting white and black outfits for the high profile charity event.

The Transformers star shared a photo flashing his chiseled abs as he got ready for the gala.

With his toned physique on display, he could be seen buttoning his shirt and exposing his underwear in the shot he posted to Instagram.

The actor is now gearing up to star in a new CBS drama from Break Bad creator Vince Gilligan called Battle Creek, which premieres in the fall.

I've seen plenty of pictures where she is carrying him. When Fergie and Josh are out together he tends to carry Axl. Which in reality is safer since she tends to wear very high heels. So maybe that is their concern. And maybe Josh is just extremely proud to have a beautiful baby in his arms and a beautiful wife on his arm. Their choice.

The bandana around little Axl's neck is cute and all, but is a noose in the making for a toddler. Common Sense should prevail over accessorizing, as a new Mum is going to Copycat the bandana for her own baby.
