First look: Melissa George is a proud mother as she shows off four-month-old son Raphael while strolling through Milan in mini dress

By Heidi Parker

Melissa George looked like a proud mother as she showed off her son prominently for the first time during an afternoon stroll in Italy on Thursday.

The 37-year-old Good Wife star was with a friend in Milan when she took Raphael, aged four months, out of his stroller and held him closely in her arms, letting onlookers get a good glimpse of her bundle of joy.

The Australian actress wore little makeup for the outing which was a stark contrast to her red carpet appearance the night before at the Convivio charity gala where she revealed an impressive post-baby body.

The father of the child is French entrepreneur Jean-David Blanc, who is the founder of AlloCiné. The blonde beauty started dating him in 2011 after she split from music producer Russell Simmons.

Before that George had been married for 12 years to film director Claudio Dabed.

In August the Dark City actress announced she was expecting a child.

During her afternoon outing Melissa chose to wear almost no makeup, revealing almost flawless porcelain skin. Her hair wasn't given much thought either as she pulled her blonde locks into a bun.

Her dark peach mini dress showed off a lean frame with only the slightest pooch on her stomach which is understandable as she only gave birth four months ago.

Beige ballet flats completed her summer look.

George looked to take extra care of her little son as she held him close to her chest and even put one hand on the back of his head.

At one point she did hold him in front of her showing off just how much the little guy resembles her.

There was no sign of Jean-David and the looker did not have on an engagement ring so there seems to be no change in their relationship status even though they have welcomed a child into the world.

On Wednesday evening the Limey actress stunned in a black and white outfit.

The Perth native highlighted her tiny waist in black high-waisted trousers, but it was the high-fashion top that had everyone talking.

Going sans bra at the charity event, the normally conservative dresser might have been hoping the big puffy sleeves and design detail on the top would draw the eye, the camera's flash revealed much more than Melissa perhaps intended.

The star finished the look with black platform heels and clutch handbag in the same classic shade, which she attached to her wrist with a ribbon.

Melissa kept her hair and make up simple, making her outfit the main event.

The actress's blonde locks were slicked back, with a soft and chic sideways fringe shaping her face and strong eye make up completing the sophisticated look.

And that sheer blouse certainly didn't discourage Melissa from strutting her stuff on the red carpet.

The actress took her time in front of the cameras and posed alongside Simon Holloway, the former co-creative director of Jimmy Choo.

Melissa and Simon were at the opening of this year's Convivio, which is an Italian Market Exhibition raising money for multiple AIDS charities.

The annual event was started back in 1992 by designers Gianni Versace, Gianfranco Ferre, Giorgio Armani and Valentino.

The high fashion event encourages 'shopping for a good purpose' but also reminds Italians that it's a time to act.

George has not attended too many red-carpet events since having Raphael, though she has been spotted strolling him around on various streets.

Wednesday was the first time a good look of his face was seen.

In addition to The Good Wife, Melissa has also appeared on Hunted and Grey's Anatomy.

Melissa has always been blessed with a face that needs little make-up, and she still seems to be benefitting from her "pregnancy glow". What I'm saying is: four months after giving birth, she's still got her Hottie Cred.

They built her all up as this character on The Good Wife and then they just dropped her over night. It was strange. I hated the character she played anyway, so I was glad.
