England World Cup squad portraits: Three Lions pose ahead of campaign in Brazil

By John Drayton

England kick-off their World Cup campaign against Italy in the sweltering heat of Manaus on Saturday night, but there are a few duties to get through before the real action starts.

One of those was posing for their official World Cup portraits, which can be seen below.

The entire squad lined up to have their photos taken, and the range of emotions make for interesting viewing.

While Glen Johnson went for the mean and moody look, Steven Gerrard opted for a steely-eyed stare. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain seemed rather pleased with himself while Danny Welbeck looked simply delighted to be in Brazil this summer.

Let's hope they're all smiling after beating Italy on June 14 and, even more importantly, after the World Cup final itself on July 13.

The only issue for England is Smalling and Jones these two are not ready for this level of competition. These 2 are the only missfiring cylinders

leave rooney out put in the ox or Henderson ..rooney expects the ball and the young lads are afraid not to pass to him ..leaving him out would give them the freedom to score
