And Marion Cotillard showed that she is every bit as passionate in real life as she watched her partner of seven years compete in a horse jumping event on Friday.

As director Guillaume Canet rode in the International Cannes Jumping event in their native France, Marion could hardly bare to watch.

Marion gasped, grabbed her mouth, then hid behind her fingers.

The La Vie En Rose actress and the couple's three-year-old son Marcel stood together as The Beach star Guillaume took his turn.

He began riding horses from a young age and was even performing in the circus at age 10.

Although he is now a renowned director his early ambition was to be a professional show jumper.

Unfortunately, a serious accident ended his dreams at 18 when he was on the national junior equestrian team.

While performing in a show jumping competition his horse missed an obstacle and fell on top of him.

"Marian" is an adjective to describe something pertaining to the virgin Mary, or one of the queens. I've never heard of the word "marion" being a verb of any kind, in French or English. I'm not sure how a descriptive term could be a verb anyway (as in "to marion something"). Where did you get the word from?
