'She is delighted': Lara Bingle's waterfront Sydney apartment sells for around $1m after agents finally contact model to negotiate price as she holidays in Italy

Real estate agents spent the weekend desperately trying to track down model Lara Bingle in a bid to get her to agree the sale of her waterfront apartment in Sydney.

The MailOnline understands the blonde, who was busy soaking up the sun with her actor boyfriend Sam Worthington while on holiday in Capri, was out of contact for some time.

On Sunday, real estate agents McGrath finally got through to the 26-year-old by telephone and Lara was said to be 'delighted' with the around $1m bid for the pad in Darling Point and agreed the offer, pocketing an estimated $118,000 profit.

Lara bought the property for an estimated $882,000 in 2010 and put it on the market in May as she focuses on building her career stateside with her Avatar beau, Sam, 37.

A source told MailOnline: 'Lara was uncontactable for most of the weekend and auctioneers were keen to get hold of her to agree a price offered by a bidder. She was delighted with the $1million offer made.

'Contracts are being signed after agents finally got hold of her after trying over the weekend.'

It looks like Lara's life is about to see less Sydney and more New York, now her one-bedroom apartment has been sold under auction.

She was rumoured to have privately inspected a property in Point Piper, but it's likely she'll be spending most of her time with Sam in New York in the coming months.

Chief auctioneer for real estate agents McGrath Scott Kennedy Green confirmed the property had been sold.

He told the MailOnline: 'It has magnificent views of the city skyline and the harbour and is immaculately done up inside. The sale price exceeded her expectations.'

Bingle's beautiful one bedroom abode has certainly befitted the Australian model, featuring a spectacular harbour view and opulent interior design by Blainey North.

She bought the well-lit 65sqm apartment in 2010 after her break-up with Michael Clarke.

Sam and Lara are currently holidaying in Capri after reportedly arriving by helicopter.

They have been putting the pressures of their high-profile and very public careers behind them to take time out together.

This month the model fronts a July awareness campaign in aid of bowel cancer, which kills more Australians than breast cancer and prostrate cancer.

In a short clip the ambassador for the charity Bowel Cancer Australia she says: 'Australia has one of the highest rates in the world and we still find it difficult to talk about. It's preventable, beatable and treatable.'
