Daddy's girl! Games of Thrones star Peter Dinklage and daughter Zelig share a giggle on fun-filled family day at the park

By Yana Kay

Peter Dinklage certainly proves he's a hands on dad.

The Games of Thrones star was enjoying walking around Yorkville, an upscale shopping area in Toronto, with his wife Erica Schmidt and daughter Zelig on Friday.

And when he spotted some swings at a nearby park, he seized the opportunity to have some fun with his little one.

Zelig seemed to be having the time of her life laughing and smiling as the 44-year-old actor pushed the cute youngster on the swings.

The father/ daughter duo also made sure to go on the slides.

Peter is in Toronto shooting the big budget adventure movie Pixels with Adam Sandler.

The talented actor's portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in HBO's Game of Thrones has won him an Emmy.

Dinklage, who stands at 4ft5, was born with achondroplasia, a common form of dwarfism, and it was understandably hard for him to deal with this as teenager.

In an 2003 interview, Dinklage said: 'When I was younger, I definitely let it get to me. As an adolescent, I was bitter and angry, and I definitely put up these walls.

'But the older you get, you realize you just have to have a sense of humour. You just know that it's not your problem. It's theirs.'

Of course, his height would make him perfect for the landmark role of 'The Imp' from George R.R Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice series, writ large by HBO.

Dinklage, who also starred in Elf and Entourage, admits he hasn't read the books himself so possibly has no idea of Tyrion's ultimate fate.

It's looking perilous at the moment, however, after Prince Oberyn was crushed in defeat by Gregor 'The Mountain that rides' Clegane during the trial by combat to decide Tyrion's fate.

But with Clegane left looking seriously wounded at the end of episode eight, fans are hoping there's some way the mercurial Lannister can escape his death sentence.

He is SO handsome, smart, kind (he's an ambassador against animal cruelty), and has an adorable family in his wife and child. Great actor too and I am so pleased for him that he landed the role of Tyrion and now the world has acknowledged his talent. And hey, bonus of being fun-sized: proper play time on the slide alongside your kid!
