Kelly Clarkson has given birth to a baby girl.

The 32-year-old singer and her music manager husband Brandon Blackstock welcomed River Rose, their first child together, into the world on Thursday.

The Stronger hitmaker took to her Twitter account to announce the happy news.

'Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived!' Kelly Clarkson announced on Thursday 12 June that she and husband Brandon Blackstock welcomed their first child into the world

'Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th!' she wrote on the social networking site.

'Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! (sic).'

The blonde beauty, who announced she was expecting a daughter earlier this year, had a difficult pregnancy early on after battling with morning sickness.

She tweeted at the time: 'Ladies if you r pregnant & sick as a dog trust me when I say the one thing u will keep down might just be 'baked potatoes' #godblesspotatoes (sic)'

Meanwhile, the Breakaway singer wanted to have a happy baby and even made it her wish for her 32nd birthday.

She then wrote on April 24: 'It's my birthday!!!! For my birthday I have asked my unborn baby girl to sleep through the night and laugh a lot when she comes out :) (sic)'.

Kelly married Brandon in a low-key ceremony in Tennessee last October, and shortly afterwards admitted that she couldn't wait to fall pregnant.

The singer is already a stepmother to Brandon's two children from his first marriage, Seth, seven, and Savannah, 11.

The couple made the announcement on November 19 that they were expecting their first child.

For all those who think that is not very pc to say about chemo... yes I have had 12 sessions for colon cancer and I've had 2 babies both pregnancies with hyperemisis and it's nothing to chemo sicknes!!!
