30 Population Control Quotes That Show That The Elite Truly Believe That Humans Are A Plague Upon The Earth

The Georgia Guidestones Which Advocate A Maximum Human Population Of 500 Million

There is a clear consensus among the global elite that overpopulation is the primary cause of the most important problems that the world is facing and that something desperately needs to be done about it.  They truly believe that humans are a plague upon the earth and that we will literally destroy the planet if we are left to our own devices.  To the elite, everything from global warming to our growing economic problems can be directly traced back to the lack of population control.  They warn that if nothing is done about the exploding population, we will be facing a future full of poverty, war and suffering on a filthy, desolate planet.  They complain that it “costs too much” to keep elderly patients that are terminally ill alive, and they eagerly promote abortion for babies that are “not wanted” because they would be “too much of a burden” on society.  Anything that reduces the human population in any way is a good thing for those that believe in this philosophy.  This twisted philosophy is being promoted in our movies, in our television shows, in our music, in countless books, on many of the most prominent websites in the world, and it is being taught at nearly all of the most important colleges and universities on the planet.  The people promoting this philosophy have very, very deep pockets, and they are actually convinced that they are helping to “save the world” by trying to reduce the size of the human population.  In fact, many of them are entirely convinced that we are in a “life or death” struggle for the fate of the planet, and that if humanity does not willingly choose to embrace population control soon, then a solution will have to be “forced” upon them.

Yes, I know that all of this may sound like something out of a science fiction novel.  But there are a whole lot of people out there that are absolutely obsessed with this stuff, and many of them are in very prominent positions around the globe.

The following are 30 population control quotes which show that the elite truly believe that humans are a plague upon the earth and that a great culling is necessary…

1. UK Television Presenter Sir David Attenborough: “We are a plague on the Earth. It’s coming home to roost over the next 50 years or so. It’s not just climate change; it’s sheer space, places to grow food for this enormous horde. Either we limit our population growth or the natural world will do it for us, and the natural world is doing it for us right now”

2. Paul Ehrlich, a former science adviser to president George W. Bush and the author of “The Population Bomb”: “To our minds, the fundamental cure, reducing the scale of the human enterprise (including the size of the population) to keep its aggregate consumption within the carrying capacity of Earth is obvious but too much neglected or denied”

3. Paul Ehrlich again, this time on the size of families: “Nobody, in my view, has the right to have 12 children or even three unless the second pregnancy is twins”

4. Dave Foreman, the co-founder of Earth First: “We humans have become a disease, the Humanpox.”

5. CNN Founder Ted Turner: “A total world population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal.”

6. Japan’s Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso about medical patients with serious illnesses: “You cannot sleep well when you think it’s all paid by the government. This won’t be solved unless you let them hurry up and die.”

7. David Rockefeller: “The negative impact of population growth on all of our planetary ecosystems is becoming appallingly evident.”

8. Environmental activist Roger Martin: “On a finite planet, the optimum population providing the best quality of life for all, is clearly much smaller than the maximum, permitting bare survival. The more we are, the less for each; fewer people mean better lives.”

9. HBO personality Bill Maher: “I’m pro-choice, I’m for assisted suicide, I’m for regular suicide, I’m for whatever gets the freeway moving – that’s what I’m for. It’s too crowded, the planet is too crowded and we need to promote death.”

10. MIT professor Penny Chisholm: ”The real trick is, in terms of trying to level off at someplace lower than that 9 billion, is to get the birthrates in the developing countries to drop as fast as we can. And that will determine the level at which humans will level off on earth.”

11. Julia Whitty, a columnist for Mother Jones: “The only known solution to ecological overshoot is to decelerate our population growth faster than it’s decelerating now and eventually reverse it—at the same time we slow and eventually reverse the rate at which we consume the planet’s resources. Success in these twin endeavors will crack our most pressing global issues: climate change, food scarcity, water supplies, immigration, health care, biodiversity loss, even war. On one front, we’ve already made unprecedented strides, reducing global fertility from an average 4.92 children per woman in 1950 to 2.56 today—an accomplishment of trial and sometimes brutally coercive error, but also a result of one woman at a time making her individual choices. The speed of this childbearing revolution, swimming hard against biological programming, rates as perhaps our greatest collective feat to date.”

12. Colorado State University Professor Philip Cafaro in a paper entitled “Climate Ethics and Population Policy”: “Ending human population growth is almost certainly a necessary (but not sufficient) condition for preventing catastrophic global climate change. Indeed, significantly reducing current human numbers may be necessary in order to do so.

13. Professor of Biology at the University of Texas at Austin Eric R. Pianka: “I do not bear any ill will toward people. However, I am convinced that the world, including all humanity, WOULD clearly be much better off without so many of us.”

14. Detroit News Columnist Nolan Finley: “Since the national attention is on birth control, here’s my idea: If we want to fight poverty, reduce violent crime and bring down our embarrassing drop-out rate, we should swap contraceptives for fluoride in Michigan’s drinking water.

We’ve got a baby problem in Michigan. Too many babies are born to immature parents who don’t have the skills to raise them, too many are delivered by poor women who can’t afford them, and too many are fathered by sorry layabouts who spread their seed like dandelions and then wander away from the consequences.”

15. John Guillebaud, professor of family planning at University College London: “The effect on the planet of having one child less is an order of magnitude greater than all these other things we might do, such as switching off lights. An extra child is the equivalent of a lot of flights across the planet.”

16. Democrat strategist Steven Rattner: “WE need death panels. Well, maybe not death panels, exactly, but unless we start allocating health care resources more prudently — rationing, by its proper name — the exploding cost of Medicare will swamp the federal budget.”

17. Matthew Yglesias, a business and economics correspondent for Slate, in an article entitled “The Case for Death Panels, in One Chart”: “But not only is this health care spending on the elderly the key issue in the federal budget, our disproportionate allocation of health care dollars to old people surely accounts for the remarkable lack of apparent cost effectiveness of the American health care system. When the patient is already over 80, the simple fact of the matter is that no amount of treatment is going to work miracles in terms of life expectancy or quality of life.”

18. Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger: “All of our problems are the result of overbreeding among the working class”

19. U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg: “Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.”

20. Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger: “The most merciful thing that the large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.”

21. Salon columnist Mary Elizabeth Williams in an article entitled “So What If Abortion Ends Life?”: “All life is not equal. That’s a difficult thing for liberals like me to talk about, lest we wind up looking like death-panel-loving, kill-your-grandma-and-your-precious-baby storm troopers. Yet a fetus can be a human life without having the same rights as the woman in whose body it resides.”

22. Alberto Giubilini of Monash University in Melbourne, Australia and Francesca Minerva of the University of Melbourne in a paper published in the Journal of Medical Ethics: “[W]hen circumstances occur after birth such that they would have justified abortion, what we call after-birth abortion should be permissible. … [W]e propose to call this practice ‘after-birth abortion’, rather than ‘infanticide,’ to emphasize that the moral status of the individual killed is comparable with that of a fetus … rather than to that of a child.  Therefore, we claim that killing a newborn could be ethically permissible in all the circumstances where abortion would be. Such circumstances include cases where the newborn has the potential to have an (at least) acceptable life, but the well-being of the family is at risk.”

23. Nina Fedoroff, a key adviser to Hillary Clinton: “We need to continue to decrease the growth rate of the global population; the planet can’t support many more people.”

24. Barack Obama’s primary science adviser, John P. Holdren: “A program of sterilizing women after their second or third child, despite the relatively greater difficulty of the operation than vasectomy, might be easier to implement than trying to sterilize men.

The development of a long-term sterilizing capsule that could be implanted under the skin and removed when pregnancy is desired opens additional possibilities for coercive fertility control. The capsule could be implanted at puberty and might be removable, with official permission, for a limited number of births.”

25. David Brower, the first Executive Director of the Sierra Club: “Childbearing [should be] a punishable crime against society, unless the parents hold a government license … All potential parents [should be] required to use contraceptive chemicals, the government issuing antidotes to citizens chosen for childbearing.”

26. Thomas Ferguson, former official in the U.S. State Department Office of Population Affairs: “There is a single theme behind all our work–we must reduce population levels. Either governments do it our way, through nice clean methods, or they will get the kinds of mess that we have in El Salvador, or in Iran or in Beirut. Population is a political problem. Once population is out of control, it requires authoritarian government, even fascism, to reduce it…”

27. Mikhail Gorbachev: “We must speak more clearly about sexuality, contraception, about abortion, about values that control population, because the ecological crisis, in short, is the population crisis. Cut the population by 90% and there aren’t enough people left to do a great deal of ecological damage.”

28. Jacques Costeau: “In order to stabilize world population, we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it is just as bad not to say it.”

29. Finnish environmentalist Pentti Linkola: “If there were a button I could press, I would sacrifice myself without hesitating if it meant millions of people would die”

30. Prince Phillip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II and co-founder of the World Wildlife Fund: “In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation.”

There is so much more that could be said about all of this.

These are the same people who cause overpopulation by supporting welfare programs that encourage the production of human beings by removal of responsibility for those humans. Am i missing something? If you can’t feed em don’t make em. And if you do make em then understand they will suffer your fate.

  • Noob

I think we could use a bit less idiots in this world (like those people you quoted) because humanity has been doomed. Thanks to those idiots those people walking on the street are soulless robots with 1 thing on their mind: consume. Most people simply follow 3 steps in their life: Work, consume, die. If we wanna give hope to humanity we either kill these idiots that you quoted, kill the masses, ban TV to deprogram them, or do nothing. I got an idea. We get the idiots in this article to suffer from great pain. Much pain. They are responsible for the deaths of thousands of inoccents. They should be brutally killed and have their souls destroyed. And before you ask… YES I MAD.

    • Hammerstrike

Why do you put work first?

    Why was my comment deleted?

If, in fact, over population is true (I have my doubts) is it maybe a good thing to voluntarily reduce the size of our new families? Having six kids might not be the best thing – how about just a couple and get a dog?

    • Bad Kitty Cat

I think those with lots simply want more, and getting rid of some of the population is their solution. Unfortunately for them, they are getting rid of those that don’t actually consume much.

Besides, a larger family does not actually cost as much as some think…. Food is a big cost, but more people means less waste. Most things can be used on multiple kids. I have often wondered if having only one causes more waste, as things are used on one kid then disposed….

  • Ameen

I grew up in Africa. Having from an early age been exposed to and closely aware of the problems of insufficient food, decimation of animal populations, and the general ravaging and despoliation of nature and our environment in general – by humans, of course – I am ALL IN FAVOR for population control and even, yes, reduction!

    • A Dodgy Bloke

      I won’t

  • Hambone

I encourage anyone who believes overpopulation is a problem to not have any kids. Please, for the sake of the planet, stop having children. The trees thank you!

(In the mean time, those who believe as I do will soon outnumber you)

    • Bad Kitty Cat

I often wonder if these people realize that our more fertile future enemies will soon outnumber and overthrow us….

      • Hammerstrike

        That is exactly the purpose.

Have you seen China? I knwo you don’t care because you will be long dead at the point but what about when theres no more food and people start truning into cannibals in a few hundred years.

all you need do is drive in rush hour traffic to see that there are way too many people. It would be way better to have 1/3 less people in the USA and the world in general. Less people=better life for those who remain, however, I do not know a good way to get from here to there.

    • Hammerstrike

Quantity is not the problem, unless you live in India or Pakistan, quality is.

Funny, in India, one could see by just walking in the streets that things worked much better in a state ruled by socialists than non-socialist ones.

    • Bad Kitty Cat

I doubt less people would mean more for the rest of us. I suspect it would result in a more managable group of serfs/slaves.

I propose we start with politicians and let them lead by example.

Of course they do, because the alternative is aknowledging that they are the plague, not an enlightened blessing.

I believe in managing the population we have in an efficient manner. That means using the technology that is available right now to feed the planet. There is a reason why we have as many people on the planet as we do. It is called attrition.

Only a fraction of that number are going to survive nature’s solutions to the problem. Famine, Sickness, Wars, just to name a few things that happen. Volcanoes, Earthquakes, Weather disasters, Hurricanes, all contribute to all animals dying on this planet at a regular and consistent rate.

6/7ths of this planet is covered with oceans. At least that is what I have been told.We have huge wastelands all over the planet. We have no viable water supply for those wastelands. Sounds like an engineering problem to me. The Sahara would be a good start to engineering a solution to the water problem. The Indian Ocean and the Atlantic are both getting deeper as the poles release more and more water. It is salt water. But it can be distilled using current technology using solar furnaces.
The sands are an ideal medium for hydroponic farming. But it takes engineers and technology to develop it. It takes money to make money work for us.

Does anyone else see a parallel with the Hitler movement and Nazi Germany in these people spouting off about population control instead of getting off their dead minds and doing something constructive to help the problems we face rather than some stupid eugenics ideas or eliminate the poor as a solution?
We now have the entire program of human genetics recorded. We have the engineering to populate the continental shelves under water. And this is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. It means modifying people to live there.
It means viable engineering to access the shelves with a multiple wealth several times the resources available right now in this country.

Where amongst these “elite” are the visionaries? Where are the Ketterings, Pattersons, Edisons, and the list goes on and on, with the vision to produce a happy future for most people? One thing most of these people had was a belief in God. Most believed in giving back to the community in a positive way.
I am sitting in an area that once was a flood zone. There are a series of well engineered dams put together by the wealthy engineers of my community in 1913. They are still maintained to this day. Our community has profited from it.

We are looking at pioneers that put together a railway system in this country that took enormous amounts of wealth to produce. That investment put this country on the map. It put our industry number one in the world for a long time.
I suggest there was something wrong with the family genes. What kind of children did they produce that have become advocates of destroying a substantial number of the human race? I suggest that this “elite” probably have not contributed anything like what I have described above. Have any of them ever done a good day’s work laboring besides the people they control? Doubt it. They were “educated” at “elite” universities full of devil worshipers and aethists. At least that is the stereotype the common man sees.
Does anyone else find it a coincidence that several eastern Universities produce most of our top elected leadership over the last 50 years? That certain fraternaties seem to be in common in that they have produced most of our presidents?
What are they filling the heads of these potential presidents with? How are they educating them?
Answer those questions honestly and you get the picture. I wonder how many of them belong to the Hemlock Society of years past?
Straighten out these University teachings and you might find an entire class of people educated in a twisted and terrible way. The problem is they are our future leaders if history is any indication.

I cannot but wonder if we have produced these monsters or if someone has done it for us. If there is some campaign of long standing out there trying to eliminate the Human Species from this planet. Right now it is all circumstantial evidence.

Population control! How about Population elimination?
I have more questions than answers. But every day a lot of those questions are answered by grim reality of what those so called leaders appear to be planning.

    • RJVB

Their heads are being filled with the esoteric religion and I hate to tell you, but it isn’t Satanism, it is a hidden belief and most people have no clue that it even exists, much less understand it.

      Truth points to itself

    • Hammerstrike

Population Control… in the name of the Earth but really for the largest and most bloated of societal parasites that has only followed their own interest in the last 68 years.

The solutions to the problems we caused is for us to have even more control than we had under the previous system, our failures are not our own but of the people, for not following us enough!

But even when their tower grows shakier and rustier, they invest even more on their self-inulgence at the expense of the support beams.

One would think that there at least would be some large vested agro-corporations pressuring the UN and using the medias to establish large-scale efficient agriculture in the third-world or building canals for Siberian floods going today to the Arctic going to central asia instead.

They would make a killing profit but at least there would be an actual contribution.

But that simply doesn´t happen, the left complain about greed but even greed and fear for the future cannot shake the current “elite” from its staleness, overcome its lack of vision and leadership.

The little man saw well in time the wide open maw of the crocodile in his path but he walked forth regardless.

  • A Dodgy Bloke

I wonder if any of these self appointed sages have looked into the aging of the west and China. The demographics speak for themselves, population is going to peek in the next 20 years then decline, so Prince Phillip will not have to come back as virus. If I where these guys I was be very careful what I ask for. Any major rapid depopulation would throw sand into all kinds of places, resulting in all sorts of unintended consequences and a virus doesn’t know race class and income. Neither does events.

  • Bad Kitty Cat

Most people don’t believe in unrestrained growth! The point of this article, as I see it, is that some want to control the population and not leave these decisions up to you and me. Do YOU want to be euthanized? Of course not. Neither do I.

  • Hammerstrike

As of now, there is nota problem of quantity, there is a problem of quality and management.

Humans are more likely to be 500 millions than 9 billions by 2050.

“So, if you want more war, more death, more suffering”

Charles Darwin: On the origins of species by mean of natural selection.

So now, there is but a brief respite, brought by the “elite” so they could avoid being competent, before plunging into another spiral of real progress, one fueled by bloodlust and greed, they only things that are guaranteed to work.

People, please. Stop being paranoid. 963 million people across the world are hungry. •Every day, almost 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes–one child every five seconds. Your religious leaders insist these children be born by branding birth control “Evil”- yet doom 16,000 children EVERY DAY to die because there is not enough food to keep them alive. SCIENCE and SCIENTIFIC METHOD have enabled billions more to live right now then possibly could have 100 years ago. The scientists your leaders tell you are conspiring on evolution are responsible for advances in veterinary, agricultural, transportation and medical capabilities that save billions of lives and provide sustenance to the billions on this planet. Look inside. Do you really think all of the people listed in this article WANT to kill billions of people? Is it more rational to think that they
really care about the 16,000 CHILDREN that will die today of hunger that could have been spared by educating people about birth control and family planning? Who are the monsters? The so called “moral leaders” that deny women access to methods that would eliminate the needless suffering and deaths of almost 6,000,000 children every year, or the people that are begging you to wake up to this suffering? These poor souls are not a “gift from God” that must be born to die in agony to “live in heaven”. Do you get it? They get you riled up over abortion, to demonstrate unlimited concern on these “unborn souls”.(BTW a one month old
fetus (still an embryo) is the size of a POPPYSEED. People,
look inside your heart and ask, why is the church spending time fighting people trying to eliminate the suffering of 6 million children that are BORN each year. Take 10% of the money and energy devoted to fighting gay people, imagined world conspiracies, doctors honoring a women’s request to eliminate cells the size of a poppyseed and do something Jesus would actually TELL you to do. Instead of worrying about forcing that woman to have a child,
prevent one from dying. 16,000 will TODAY. Adopt one. Send the money you were going to send to TV preachers to groups that will care for these children, or educate women not to have them unless they can feed them. Take a look at the house Paul Crouch lives in or his 50 million jet. I truly pray that every one of you will google the words “Paul Crouch’s house”. Take a look. Your church leaders are using “hot button” issues to get you riled up.
    Think for yourselves!

    • James

study after study has been done that confirms one thing you fail to see: that the bible is true, jesus was a real man who died on the cross for our sins and the flying spagetti monster was actually cthulu…

thought I was gonna actually get biblical huh =P

Nah, Im long past fairy tales. I’m also long past myths, namely the myth that thousands of children die every day because the earth can’t provide enough food.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, thousands of children DO die everyday from starvation. But actually those studys I mentioned, not the bible or jesus nonesense, but carrying-capacity studies, agricultural engineering studies, and socio-economic studies all found ONE core pervasive reason for world hunger: POlitics. and not just any politics but World Bank and U.s. politics. Using infrastructure loans to rob countries and then undermine local economies; funding splinter groups to foist economic turmoil in countries the U.S. wants to control only for them to swoop in to save the day (witness Syria, which was a moderately well-off nation, politically stable, good infastructure and public services)…the U.S. decide, hey our reps who’s campaigns were funded by big oil, banks, and the military-industrial complex should vote in favor of measures pushing us to war, because syria would be a nice foothold in the region, in addition to Iraq and Afghanistan which we still haven’t withdrawn from.

Yep, nothing extraordinary such as overpopulation, just U.N. and U.S. imperialistic politics at work.

As a sidenote I was raised christian in a liberal house hold, changed my mind when I got older, became a right-leaning libertarian, and decided to become agnostic seeing as jesus probably wouldn’t have condoned all the rampant cirle-jerking hatefests that his church and “his party” had become known for.

And by god, I want to preserve your right to exist, a childs right to exist, a persons right to procreate, everyones right to free speech, a liberals right to be an idiot, a conservatives right to be a hater, everyones right to own a firearm, a bankers right to swindle fools, an old persons right to die (or live, whichever they choose), my right not to pay for it, and your right to opt out if you don’t like the laws.

I’m Joe Blow, this message was not paid for by any group, and I am not running for president, congress, or any office in 2016. You can take that ‘gift’ and give it to someone else.

      • George

You have made some very good points, but if you were a better writer and a more careful thinker, you might convince more people. Being a good Christian is not as extreme as you think; it takes long and careful study and a loving and generous heart and discriminating mind to embrace and practice the faith. I am a “Christian libertarian” and do not advocate all the points in the program of pure libertarianism, which may lead to anarchy. Let the agents of the New World Order set an example by eliminating themselves first, and then more may be inspired to do likewise. But above all what we all need is education: “just the facts, ma’am, just the facts.”

    • ax

Yeah, they die by thousands every day, but they are born by thousands as well. Despite us being guil-tripped at every step about poor starving chyldrn of Africa, African population is about to *quadruple* by 2100! Women there can’t get educated because the volunteers there are often killed by Muslim extremists.
People breed without though of consequence. No basic regard or awareness for conditions in which children are going to grow up or die in. Just breed ad infinitum, for it’s fun and right and then blame only sb else for the problem you’re contributing to none the less.
Government even if willing still cannot enter every home in every corner of the globe and fix it.

This stuff is really a “no brainer”,anyone with an ounce of gray matter between their ears cannot logically deny that over population is the fundamental reason for all the environmental problems and ills that the world faces today, it could not be more obvious! The real problem at the moment is no-one is discussing it openly or pubicly, we need to bring it into the public domain of what is REALLY important for us and the planet, I do not believe that it is necessary to indulge in some of the solutions suggested by some people, a world wide consensus of birth control, although, not an easy thing to get everone to sign up to, is in my opinion the only humane way. One thing for certain, if we, as a species, do not deal with it the planet surely will, and the experience would not be one that I would like to see.

Of course we have to control the worlds population its naive to believe we don’t. That does not mean mass extermination it means not being hysterical when we advocate that with aid has to come contraception and if necessary mass sterilisation to stop the birth of millions of children who will have hungry and miserable lives if we don’t.

POPULATION CONTROL IS A GOOD THING….why do you people think it’s bad…wait until we all have to stand in line for 4 hours to get eggs milk and bread.

The problem isn’t overpopulation, it’s the elitists and the oligarchs fear that the general population is getting wise to their global ponzi scheme. They fear a revolution of the masses demanding freedom and their rightful inheritance, which has been stolen by them over the course of the last 250 years. They want to kill the majority of us so we don’t execute them for their crimes. They want to rule over the less than one billion of us who are left in a ruling class-serf relationship, just like the old days…

I’m a high school teacher in California. The kids who make more kids don’t have the intellectual wherewithal to provide for any offspring, much less themselves — they are brining more mouths to the table without provisioning even a scrap for anyone. They are typically psychologically messed up and end up passing on those traits to their messed up children so long as the grandparents don’t step in. Rude, self-centered idiots are overbreeding — suppose it’s their way of pissing in the human gene pool. One of my worst students ever (in fact it is in an insult to the word to call him a student) got three different freshmen girls pregnant in one year and then moved away somewhere. People who can’t even take care of themselves should have no right to bring more human lives into the world. Teen girls always tell their baby momma friends how cute the babies are, but then I ask them how cute it would be if their friend happened to be their momma and guess what… The expression (along with their opinion) changes drastically. This is not a question of murder, it is a question of the quality of life being brought forward. I sincerely love people & kids, but I also understand the relationship between quantity and quality. It only takes one or two idiots to ruin traffic for millions in southern California. In other words, it takes a tremendous amount of cooperation to live in an advanced civilization, and more idiots means less civility and even less cooperation. It is a HUGE investment of time and resources to raise a quality human being. Who will provide for this quality if the demand grows (as it already has) way beyond our capacity to provide it? Our human numbers have been artificially and temporarily inflated due to fossil fuel exploitation, and now it will be either fossil fuel depletion, or climate change from their burning or pollution from disposable globalized consumerism that will end the artificial population inflation. I am not interested in a disposable lifestyle, so I believe that we need to stop producing disposable pollutants (including disposable humans). We talk about human rights, but what about the rights to maintain the tenants of decency in HUMANITY? Without that, I’m pretty sure that no one will like humans. I’m talking about healthy water, food, air, sense of security, competence and purpose… I am by no means an elitist, but I do work for what I think is the greatest good for all of us. What these quotes seem to be addressing is criminal neglect that goes largely unchecked for which we are all paying dearly.

lol that statement by bill maher was a punchline to a joke… this is so utterly taken out of context… but we do need less people in the world, and better methods to achieve such…steady decline is attainable…without any apocalyptic intervention

Then Lawyers – But seriously , yes the exponential growth of human population since the mid 19th century is without doubt a huge problem.
But things have change hugely over the past 25 years.

The average birthrate per family worldwide has dropped from 5 0r 6 to 2 per family
We reached “Peak” Birthrate in the year 2000 of 2 billion per year

It is now estimated that the world population that now is currently at 7 billion and will level out before the end of the century to approx 11 billion.

Of course we will probable run out of resources, especially oil long before then.
Peak Oil occurred perhaps around 2005. All oil reserves could be depleted by 2020 in the worse case scenario or 2040 in the best case.
