Shia LaBeouf left his Los Angeles gym looking fit with a huge smile on his face on Monday.

The troubled 28-year-old smirked his unshaven face while clutching a large bottle of water.

The grinning Emmy winner was casually attired in a white Marc Buoniconti Fund T-shirt, grey skinny jeans, and his favourite beige Army boots.

Shia hasn't removed the beat-up combat boots since he prepped for the film Fury at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin.

LaBeouf spent the Fourth of July weekend playing softball in Venice and he was also seen leaving the Root Cellar medical marijuana dispensary in Sherman Oaks.

The Nymphomaniac actor is 'voluntarily receiving treatment for alcohol addiction' after his recent arrest for criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, and harassment at a Broadway production of Cabaret.

'He understands that these recent actions are a symptom of a larger health problem and he has taken the first of many necessary steps towards recovery,' Shia's publicist said in a statement.

It was the culmination of several bizarre incidents - belligerent outbursts, plagiarism, and public martyrdom involving paper-bag masks marked: 'I am not famous anymore.'

The Transformers star's next court appearance is scheduled for July 24.

LaBeouf will next play tank soldier Boyd Swan in WWII flick Fury - due out November 14 - with Brad Pitt, Scott Eastwood, and Michael Peña.
