They just enjoyed a weekend in Santa Barbara as they celebrated Jessica Simpson's nuptials to retired NFL tight end Eric Johnson.

And now that they're back in town, Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross are looking forward to their own wedding. The 29-year-old singer and her 25-year-old actor fiancé - who popped the question in January - are reportedly planning a Labor Day wedding.

The couple were seen holding hands as they left DBA Nightclub in West Hollywood on Monday morning after enjoying a date at the trendy hotspot.

Ashlee looked chic in a black jumpsuit with wide leg trousers and accessorised with a green shoulder bag and black strappy heels.

Her long blonde tresses looked tousled and glam as they fell around her shoulders and she kept her make-up natural with neutral tones on her eyes.

Her beau Evan looked hip in some striped trouser with a low crotch and button detail up the front. He rolled up the legs and donned black leather shoes.

On top he wore a simple white T-shirt and covered up with a rather dapper navy coat.

The couple just spent the weekend on California's Central Coast to attend Jessica's wedding at the San Ysidro Ranch.

In a statement to People, the newlyweds announced shortly after exchanging vows:
'We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment.'

Jessica's two-year-old daughter Maxwell was looking as sweet as ever as she performed flower girl duties.

Their son Ace, aged one, acted as a dapper little ring bearer.

Ashlee's son Bronx, aged five, with ex-husband Pete Wentz - also got in on the action, accompanying Maxwell down the aisle.

The couple were surrounded by 250 of their nearest and dearest family members and friends, who cheered as the couple wrapped up their heartfelt vows.

Meanwhile, E! has reported that Evan's mother - legendary singer Diana Ross - is very excited and involved in the planning of his wedding to Pieces Of Me singer Ashlee.

It is rumoured that the former Supremes singer will actually be performing at her son's nuptials and her daughter Rhonda Ross Kendrick will be joining her as well.

A source also told the publication that Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson have also been invited to the wedding.

Although it is thought that the wedding will take place in Connecticut, there are also rumours abound that the ceremony will happen at Diana's own residence in LA.

According to Contact Music, the soul diva is renovating her mansion in time for the big event. A source said: 'It's going to be so over-the-top.'

Isn't amazing that there are so many experts on who will and will not make it as a happy couple, based on random photos taken of celebrities on random days. Really, I wonder what we would think if we analyzed YOUR photos with your loved ones on random days as you went about your business. Are you always smiling and hugged up and posing, as you seem to think Evan and Ashley and other celebrities should be??? They will make it or not, like 50% of every others marriage.
