McLovin swaps Superbad buddies Seth and Evan for Juan Mata and Cafu... but why were the World Cup winners not too impressed by the movie star's interview technique?

By Mike Dawes

Christopher Mintz-Plasse is better known for his role as McLovin in the film Superbad but the rebellious teenager swapped his movie sidekicks Seth and Evan for more illustrious company, when he interviewed some footballing greats in Brazil.

The American actor got to meet Juan Mata, Fernando Hierro, Cafu and Patrick Vieira; but it is fair to say they were not convinced by his knowledge of the beautiful game.

Mintz-Plasse was more interested in discovering Brazil's famous nightlife than watching the World Cup and - in the light-hearted film - he eventually lost his cool with Mata, when the Spaniard struggled to recommend any good parties.

His journey to find South America's best watering holes took him to a training session with Flamengo FC, where the 25-year-old ended up having his goal-keeping abilities tested, and a personal masterclass from Hierro.

It is fair to say that his skills were not quite up to scratch of Neymar and Co.

Vieira eventually set the record straight, saying: 'You clearly didn't know nothing about soccer. If you did, you would realise that going to a match at the World Cup is the biggest party of all.'

No. Don't count that as American humour. First it must be humour. That was not funny. And you find that Family Guy is similar to English humor? Okay then. Please explain.

Family Guy's humour is absolutely nothing like British humour.
