Three cheers to a triple treat

SHOWMANSHIP: Vikram and Sada in `Aparichitudu.'

Aparichitudu (Telugu)

Cast: Vikram, Sada, Prakashraj, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Shanmukanath, Nazar, Yana Gupta

Director: Shankar

True to expectations, national award winning hero Vikram-starrer `Aparichitudu' is a watchable movie. The film is supposed to be the costliest film in the south to have hit the screen.

Graphic works are fascinating while directorial capabilities of Shankar in each and every frame, are sure to mesmerise audience.

Shock value

Ramanujam (Vikram) is a Brahmin lawyer. His father (Nedumudi Venu) is also an advocate. During a heavy rain, power lines get snapped and Ramu's sister dies of electrocution. Though Ramu's father pleads in the court demanding punishment to those who are responsible for the accident, it dismisses his appeal claiming that it's an accident. Ramu, after becoming a lawyer, lodges complaints whenever he finds somebody committing some mistake or the other.

He falls in love with Nandini (Sada) in his neighbourhood. But, she hates his nature saying no girl will accept a person like Ramu. At this juncture, Nandini gets flowers and birds as gift from one unknown person. One man introduces himself as Remo, pop and rap dancer and fashion designer-cum-model. Nandini falls in love with Remo.

In the meanwhile, a person called `Aparichitudu' starts punishing guilty by killing them as per rules enunciated in `Garuda Puranam.' `Aparichitudu' kills persons against whom Ramu lodges complaints.

On one occasion, Nandini's parents purchase a plot and take Ramu with them to the Registrar's office for verification of documents. Nandini wants to get the land registered by quoting the value of the land at a lesser price to avoid stamp duty. Ramu tells her not to cheat the Government, but she does not heed him.

Remo is angry

After some time, she meets Remo. When she tells Remo that some officials are going to inspect the land, and that she has to bribe them, Remo turns violent.

`Aparichitudu' comes out of Remo and threatens to kill her. As she can't understand as to what's happening, Nandini takes Ramu to a psychiatrist (Nazar). Whether Ramu becomes a normal man, whether Nandini succeeds in making Remo believe that she really loves Ramu, whether the police solve the mysteries behind the murders form part of the remaining film.

Vikram steals the show. Sada does justice to her role While Prakashraj is okay as police officer. Canning of songs is fine in beautiful locales and extravagant sets and choreography of action scenes are extraordinary.
