Vikram a singer too

S.R. Ashok Kumar

CHENNAI: The latest buzz about Vikram –Shriya Saran starrer Kandasamy is actor Vikram turning playback singer for the film. There are four songs and he has sung all of them. The songs are written by Viveka and the music has been scored by Devi Sriprasad.

Director Susi Ganesan, all proud of his hero’s different facets, said it was only in the days of actors such as Thyagaraja Bagavadar that the hero himself sang . “When I heard about Vikram having sung for an album, I wanted him to sing for the film. The songs have come out very well. Vikram is not just a very talented actor, but also a great singer,” he said.

Abirami Ramananathan has obtained distribution rights for Chennai for the film produced by Kalaipuli Thanu. The film is scheduled for release in April. Speaking on the film, Mr. Ramanathan said he was waiting for a big film to come his way. “After Sivaji I wanted to distribute a big budget film. In the mean time I produced a Panchamirtham which did better than what was expected. I released Sivaji in 18 theatres in the city and I hope to do the same for Kandasamy too,” he said.

After seeing the stills and Susi Ganesan’s work, he expects the film to be a block buster this year.
