'I guess you can't be sarcastic in interviews': Kim Kardashian insists she was 'joking' after advising pregnant women to hide their bodies in 'a big blanket'
She caused a stir earlier this week by claiming pregnant women should 'never leave the house' and hide their bodies in a 'huge blanket'.
But Kim Kardashian has now taken to Twitter to defend her comments, insisting that she was being 'sarcastic' with her tongue-in-cheek maternity recommendations.
Explaining that she was 'joking' in the ELLE magazine interview, she said: 'I guess you can't be sarcastic when doing interviews! I was asked about tips on pregnancy style.....

Hitting out: The reality star has now taken to Twitter to defend her comments, insisting that she was being 'sarcastic' with her tongue-in-cheek maternity recommendations
'I jokingly said pregnant woman should hide/stay in if they looked like I did lol. I said ask Kourt her tips bc she has the best preg style
'I really should start video taping the interviews I do & post on my website so u can see the laughs & how it's really said. (sic)'
Kim's Twitter comments come after she offered some of her hard-earned wisdom on the matter of maternity fashion this week.
While some of her answers may have been tongue-in-cheek, she certainly made a point of being provocative in her responses.

When asked by Elle what advise she might have for expectant mothers, the 33-year-old replied: 'I recommend hiding for a good year and having no pregnancy style.'
'That’s what I recommend,' she explained. 'If you can do it,
hide. Never leave the house.'
But her sister Khloe, who along with Kourtney was also being interviewed by the publication, wasn't buying it.

'Okay, well that’s not practical,' Khloe said to Kim. 'Give a different answer.'
Kim replied: 'That’s really my recommendation.'
'Wear a huge blanket,' she added.
In the chat the trio discussed children's fashion, with Kim stating: 'Like North doesn’t really like pink. Like, she’s very neutral…she doesn’t like prints.'
When the interviewer asked, with obvious incredulity, how could a child who is only one-years-old have such specific preferences Kourtney explained: 'It’s Kim and Kanye.'
But Kim wasn't having it as she asserted: 'She hasn’t liked it for her whole life.'

'Kim and Kanye determine,' Khloe said, affirming Kourtney's position on the matter. 'And that’s what parents do.'
Kourtney added: 'Kim and Kanye don’t like pink or prints.'
Kim recently admitted she feels 'way sexier' since becoming a mother a year ago, telling Lucky magazine: 'I am definitely way sexier ever since having my daughter! The struggle to get back into shape after giving birth is such a real one.
'It's
so difficult to do, and afterwards, all you want to do is show off your
body and feel sexy. I mean, my style's definitely more simple...'
Khloe chimed in: 'I think your style's the same, really - you've just amped up the sexiness.'
Kim laughed: 'I know! I just want to be a MILF!'
