NEW Gerard Baden-Clay has been found guilty of the murder of his wife Allison in the Brisbane Supreme Court today, after one of the most absorbing trials in Australian history. The Brisbane real estate agent complained of having trouble breathing in the dock before the jury delivered their verdict. He came to court wearing a dark suit and yellow tie - his wife Allison's favourite colour. Details of the case not revealed to the jury can now be revealed, including that he researched the meaning of 'self incrimination' and 'taking the fifth' online before murdering his wife. Documents reveal that Allison Baden-Clay's life insurance policy was due to expire and she sought to reduce her death cover because the cash-strapped couple were behind in payments. Baden-Clay told his mistress Toni McHugh that Allison had given him an ultimatum: if he left her she would take custody of their daughters and control of his assets. His ex business partners said the real estate agency was in a 'diabolical' financial state and records show he was basically insolvent.
