'It's a chance to put on my tap shoes again': Christopher Walken lands the role of Captain Hook in NBC's Peter Pan Live
He currently can be seen on the big screen in Jersey Boys.
Now, Christopher Walken will also soon be bringing his dance skills to television.
The 71-year-old actor has been cast by NBC to play Captain Hook in the upcoming musical Peter Pan Live!, People reports.

Famous role: Dustin Hoffman portrays Hook in a 1991 version of the same name
'I started my career in musicals and it's wonderful after all this time, at this point in my career, to be in this classic musical I watched as a child,' Christopher said in a statement.
'It's a chance to put on my tap shoes again,' Christopher said of the role, which has been played by various other actors in the past, including Dustin Hoffman in the 1991 film Hook.
In a TV Critics meeting on Sunday, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said that Christopher will add his own style to the role.
Greenblatt added that Christopher, who will also sing, is set to create the first tap-dancing Captain Hook.

'Get ready to be charmed, amused, frightened and dazzled by Captain Hook in an entirely original way,' Robert said in a statement.
Peter Pan Live! is a follow-up to the successful live version of The Sound of Music in 2013 that starred Carrie Underwood.
The same producers, Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, are also working on Peter Pan Live!
The musical is set to air on December 4.

Christopher has appeared in more than 100 roles in film and television.
He won an Academy Award in 1978 for Best Supporting Actor for the Deer Hunter.
The actor, who has also hosted Saturday Night Live numerous times, has been married to his wife Georgianne since 1969. They have no children.
