Oscar winner Jon Voight launches TV rant against Obama for 'taking the country apart' and 'causing a civil war' over Benghazi, Iraq and immigration

By Joel Christie

Academy award-winning actor Jon Voight has launched a seething attack on President Barack Obama in a lengthy televised statement that was addressed to the American public.

The 75-year-old was talking with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee on Fox News he went on the tirade on Saturday.

The Ray Donovan star took particular aim at Benghazi, immigration, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Iraq and how the Democrats have caused the 'breakdown of the country'.

'Five years ago, I stated that Obama would take the country apart,' Voight said, reading from a script.

'Piece by piece, that he would cause a civil war in this country.

'In hindsight, we can see how many things have come to pass.

'My greatest heartache is that we sacrificed thousands of American heroes liberating Iraq, only for President Obama to pull out all troops, leaving Iraq now to be taken over by the terrorists.

'What does he say about that? Nothing.'

The actor, the father of Angelina Jolie, went on to speak of the Benghazi attack, when a U.S. diplomatic compound and CIA annex in the Libyan city of Benghazi were attacked on September 11, 2012, killing four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens.

'Let us remember, let us not forget Benghazi,' he said.

'Let us not say, ''What difference does it make?''

'Obama found a perfect way to put this under the rug, blaming Republicans, saying that they just want to find fault with his administration.

'And still to this day we still do not know the truth.'

Obama was not the sole focal point of Voight's message however.

He blamed the actions of the Democratic Party as well, including DNC chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

'The Democrat Party has become a very negative force,' Voight noted, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

'It's more socialistic in thinking and they've given young women the wrong idea about what democracy really is.'

He went on to call Congresswoman Schultz 'the gang leader for all the wrong information to our young women, convincing them that Republicans are stopping their liberties and freedoms of reproduction when the truth is, as the Supreme Court upheld, that religious freedoms are being infringed upon.'

Voight has become known for his outspoken views on Obama and the Democratic Party.

In 2012 he compared the Obama administration to a dictatorship in an interview with The Daily Caller during the Republican National Convention, according to Us Weekly.

'The media has been taken over by this administration,' he said at the time.

'It’s not less than what has happened in Venezuela with Cesar Chavez, really, because you can’t get the information through.'

Taking a cheap shot at the President is not oscar winning material and not Jon's finest hour.

If you all really think for one minute that Obama or any other "President" has actually run the country then you need to visit the same hospital as Voight.

My respect for John Voight has just risen a notch. He speaks the truth, Obama has done more damage to our nation in the 5+ years as our "leader" than the previous four.

POOR POSTER, POOR OPINION. The opinion is much like the rectum, everyone has one. Unless the poster is rectumally challenged. In which case I am sorry for his plight. JV is a hell of an actor. Unlike some in hollywood, he is very well spoken and informed.
