She's come a long way from her all-velour ensembles in her days alongside former BFF Paris Hilton in The Simple Life.

And Nicole Richie made sure she was the centre of attention as she showed off her lithe stems in a billowing sheer skirt at the launch of her new VH1 reality show, Candidly Nicole, in West Hollywood, California, on Monday night.

Clad in a sleeveless bodysuit with striking sequin detailing, the 32-year-old fashionista showcased her toned legs as she mingled with the stylish crowd.

The diminutive beauty wore her cobalt locks slicked back from her face into a sleek bun, and opted for smokey eye make-up to accentuate her naturally striking looks.

Aside from her mentoring role on Fashion Star, Nicole will soon be back to her reality star roots with the VH1 show that will take a look at the lighter side of the mother-of-two.

Nicole looked to be loving the attention as she raised up her arms while chatting with the crowd.

Meanwhile, a pair of towering silver and strappy heels boosted her petite stature.

Indeed, the daughter of Lionel Richie was feeling in good spirits for the occasion, and later goofed around beside a life-size cut-out of herself.

She threw her hands into the air and kicked up a leg as Jared Eng - who founded the website Just Jared - blew a kiss in her direction.

And though her husband Joel Madden did not appear to be in attendance, the presence of Nicole's little sister Sofia, 15, turned the business event into a family affair.

Earlier, Nicole spoke with USA Today and shared with the website her styling tips when prompted about the trends she didn't like.

She said: 'What are the trends? I don't even know. I don't pay attention to trends. I always encourage my customer, and when I'm talking to girls about fashion, I tell them to not focus on trends, I don't even know what the trends are.'

Candidly Nicole will make its debut on VH1 on Thursday.

Without seeing the bones in her chest she looks much healthier. I hope she's filled out a little there. She's very pretty and looks glamourous (which not many celebrities can pull off these days).

Well. i searched Lithe Stems.. and I found a typic rich fad form of a work out, that i'm sure people will do because famous people do it. Who knows it may actually be something that's good.. but personally, i wouldn't consider her to a healthy example of,, health.
