Lilo's new low! The humiliating moment Lindsay Lohan falls over at glamorous Italian film festival
Lindsay Lohan was left red faced after taking an embarrassing tumble at an Italian event on Monday night.
The Mean Girls star was attending the Ischia Film Festival in a sparkling silver flapper-esque tasseled gown when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Walking through the ballroom in matching metallic stilettos, which featured a pretty bow design, the 28-year-old appeared to trip and found herself down on all fours on the colourful, ornate tiled floor.

Oh no! Lindsay Lohan took an embarrassing tumble at the Ischia Film Festival on Monday night
While she was swiftly helped back on to her feet by a security guard, he wasn't quick enough to stop the event's eagle-eyed photographers from snapping away as she gasped in horror at the fumble.
Of course, this certainly isn't the first time the star has suffered an embarrassing public tumble, having been spotted on several occasions falling out of nightclubs at the height of her partying days.
Nevertheless, the actress appeared mortified as she made her way to the exit, holding her left hand out in front of her, seemingly warding off anyone that wanted a moment of her time.
The incident was certainly unfortunate for Lindsay, who is currently attempting to resurrect her career following multiple stints in rehab.
With her next move starring in the theatre production Speed The Plow, she was certainly hoping to make a good impression as she got frocked up for the Italian film festival, likely eager to drum up interest and publicity for the show.
Talk to the hand! After scrambling to her feet with the help of a security guard, the 28-year-old made a swift exit, looking mortified at her very public blunder
Indeed, she worked the room like a pro prior to her stumble, with everyone wanting to get a piece
of the famous redhead, posing for photos with her and enjoying a chat.
Speaking to BBC News about
her new acting project, the notoriously unreliable star insisted that
she is 100 per cent committed to the role and will not miss any shows
during the 10-week run.
'That's not on the cards. It's not,' she assured.
'I'm at a place in my life where I like the commitment. I'm looking forward to that part of it.'
She's enthusiastic that the theatre production will help rehabilitate her career and public image, which are now her main priorities.
Not to most graceful exit! The Mean Girls star landed on all fours after tripping on something, hitting the colourful, ornate tiled floor with force
Action stations! While security rushed to help Lilo up off the floor, they weren't quick enough to stop eagle-eyed photographers from snapping away, much to her embarrassment
'I want to be known for my talents and my work that I create, rather than a tabloid sensation,' she said.
'However long it does take, I'm willing to do it. I'm willing to work for it.'
Although rehearsals for the show haven't yet begun, Lindsay revealed she is 'very lucky and excited and nervous' to make her stage debut in the UK.
'There's a different standard to it here. It seems more prestigious. It seems a bit more serious and that's something that I really want to experience.'
With the David Mamet production set to open on September 24 at The Playhouse Theatre, the actress has also suggested that a more permanent move to London could be on the cards, having enjoyed her time spent in the city earlier this year.
Get me outta here! The actress wasn't in the mood for pleasantries as she hotfooted it out of the event, keeping her head down and with an angry and frustrated expression on her face
'I've noticed here, watching the news, you guys have such a different outlook,' she explained. 'In
the US, starting at 5pm, it's TMZ, it's all these shows talking about people's personal lives and here
I don't notice any of that - it's news and politics and music.
'So it's nice to be able to turn on the TV and not everything is about gossip. That's a really nice feeling.'
Indeed, part of her relocating to New York from Los Angeles was to get away from the intense media interest, with the East Coast providing a more low-key, stable environment for her.
A promising start: Earlier in the evening, the pretty redhead oozed confidence as she strutted through the gala, standing out from the crowd in her fun and flirty frock, her make-up beautifully applied and her long locks styled in waves tumbling down around her shoulders
Belle of the ball! Fellow guests were clamouring over one another to get close to the infamous star, happily enjoying a chat as they took photos with her
'I don't put myself in situations where I used to. In LA, when people go out at night, that's all you do. It's different now. I've matured and there's nothing really left in that life for me,' she said.
She continued that she feels constantly 'paranoid' around cameras - surely not helped by Monday's fall.
'My friends think I'm neurotic,' she said, 'but I will hear a flash of an iPhone camera, I will hear the shutter from a mile across the room. I will feel it.'
While strangers snapping photos is one thing, Linds revealed she appreciates the fact that social media means she can somewhat control what is being shown of her.

Lindsey Lohan greets fans outside New York Jingle Ball
You can't keep a good girl down! Shrugging off her latest blunder, the star made the most of being in Italy as she took to the water for some rest and relaxation on Tuesday, sharing these photos with fans on Instagram
After photos were published of her with cuts and scrapes on her legs just the other week, insinuating that she had been cutting herself on purpose, she fought back by sharing her own similar snap with the explanation that she had fallen off her bike.
'[They said] that I'd cut myself purposefully, which was dark,' she said. 'I have siblings. People see that. Producers see that and I don't need people having that perception of me.
'The benefit of something like Instagram is I can use that to my advantage and I can say "Look, this
is what happened" and make light of the situation because it was actually kind of funny.
'If I give the shot first, then there's no shot to get.'

Timber! While her buddy tried in vain to keep the star upright, she was just lucky she didn't cut herself on the plant's sharp, jagged edges as she went down like a sack of potatoes
