Yasmine Naghdi

Soloist of The Royal Ballet

Biography

English dancer Yasmine Naghdi is a Soloist with The Royal Ballet. She trained at The Royal Ballet School and graduated into the Company in 2010, promoted to First Artist in 2012 and Soloist in 2014.

Naghdi was born in London and started her training in gymnastics aged four. She took ballet lessons from age seven and was a junior associate with The Royal Ballet School before entering the Lower School. During her time at the School she took part in an exchange programme with the Vaganova Academy, St Petersburg, and won the 2009 Young British Dancer of the Year Competition. She was invited to join the Company half way through her third year at the Upper School. Her roles with the Company have included Olga (Onegin), Peaseblossom (The Dream), First Sylph (La Sylphide), Fairy of the Woodland Glade and Florestan's Sister (The Sleeping Beauty), Young Shepherdess (The Winter's Tale), finale pas de deux (Infra), pas de trois (Raymonda Act III), pas de six (Giselle) and roles in Monotones I, Asphodel Meadows, Viscera, DGV: Danse à grande vitesse, Polyphonia, Aeternum, ‘Trespass’ (Metamorphosis: Titian 2012), Fool’s Paradise, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Raven Girl, Carbon Life, Jewels, La Valse, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet and La Bayadère.

Naghdi is a keen musician and enjoys singing, playing the piano and composing.
