But Miranda Kerr was the height of class and sophistication on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old looked perfectly groomed in a fitted beige dress and heels as she stepped out in New York City.

The former Victoria's Secret model showed off her svelte frame in the frock, which sported thin straps and nipped in at the waist.

She paired the number with matching beige pointy heels and carried a white leather handbag.

The mother-of-one wore her highlighted brown hair in sleek waves and upped the glamour with red lipstick, finishing off the look with cat-eye shades.

Miranda, who has penned two self-help books, recently shared her beauty and summer tips with Lucky magazine.

Speaking about what she'd tell her younger self now if she had the chance, Miranda said: 'Just enjoy every day; don't sweat the small stuff. Stay grounded, stay true to yourself and follow your own intuition.'

Miranda cites her favourite summer song as Here Comes The Sun by The Beatles, because it reminds her of 'a little trip I took with some friends and we had the music playing and the sun was shining and it was really good energy and vibes'.

The exercise enthusiast also revealed that her favourite summertime activity is swimming in the ocean.

'It feels so good,' she said. 'Just diving into the ocean and floating on my back.'

She added: 'I fight jet-lag by drinking lots of water and when I get off the plane, I try to get a little bit of sunshine on my face and put my feet in the grass because I find it re energises me and it's very grounding.'

The only think I like about this outfit is the shoes. While the dress is a nice shape it's such a boring colour and so unflattering with the blonde tips se got going in her hair.

I can't say as I think much of her really and I don't actually think she's pretty per se but what I will say is she looks very youthful for her age! Maybe as she always seems happy - which is certainly no bad thing.
