St Patrick’s Athletic could meet Celtic in a mouth-watering Champions League clash if both clubs come through their second qualifying rounds next week.

St Pat’s earned a 1-1 draw at Legia Warsaw last week and will host the Polish champions at Tallaght Stadium next Wednesday while Celtic hold the upper hand against KR Reykjavik following a 1-0 win in Iceland. Their second leg is at Parkhead on Tuesday evening.

Cliftonville have been drawn to face either Beluras’ BATE Borisov or Albanian outfit KS Skenderbeu if they get past Hungarians Debrecen, who they drew 0-0 with at home this week.

Meanwhile, the reward for Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints - if they can bounce back from their 1-0 first-leg loss to Slovan Bratislava in Slovakia and win the tie - will be a clash with either FC Sheriff of Moldova or FK Sutjeska of Montenegro.

Other notable ties in the third qualifying round see Feyenoord take on Besiktas, Grasshoppers play Lille and Standard Liege face Panathinaikos.

The first legs are set to be played on July 29th and 30th with the second legs on August 5th and 6th.

In the Europa League Sligo Rovers, who shocked Rosenberg 2-1 last night, will play Kardemir Karabukspor of Turkey in the third qualifying of the Europa League if they can complete the job next week.
