Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson rallied around her sister who was hospitalised after the reality TV family were involved in a scary car crash on Thursday night's second of two episodes of the hit TLC show.

Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Shannon needed several days of hospital care after suffering a concussion in the crash near their Georgia home.

'Yesterday everyone was in a car accident. Everybody is okay apart from Pumpkin, so today I am minding the house while June is at the hospital,' explained Mike 'Sugar Bear' Thompson.

Honey Boo Boo then recreated the accident for viewers using two toy cars.

'He was coming so fast and then we got in a bad, terrible car accident. Pumpkin hit her head real bad and had a concussion. It was weird,' Alana explained.

The whole family then sat on the couch to re-enact the smash, which was not caught on camera, to dramatic music and laughs.

At the hospital Mama June explained that Pumpkin was suffering from post-concussion headaches and needed to be monitored by doctors.

With Pumpkin and Mama June stuck at the hospital, the rest of the family got up to high jinks with Sugar Bear looking after them.

'It is super fun to be able to do what we want,' giggled Honey Boo Boo as they shot water pistols in the house and had a pillow fight.

Jessica even turned Alana's hair green and purple with spray.

'We all miss Pumpkin but we know she is going to be alright and back at home soon. But I do have to say it's been liberating doing whatever I want at the house,' admitted Sugar Bear.

'June hates my pasty white legs so I get to let them hang out when she is not around,' added Shugie as he sat around in a small pair of shorts.

After a couple of days under observation Pumpkin was sent home, where Alana had decorated a throne for her and threw a welcome home party.

'It took me a minute to take it in and realize that Alana, and Jessica and Sugar Bear had finally done something nice for me. It was awesome,' said Pumpkin.

And Mama June was impressed at her girls.

'It is really sweet to see the kids rally around Pumpkin after her car accident,' she told viewers.

'Life's so unpredictable, I mean you never know what could happen.

'My kids are my world and it really touches my heart to know that when one kid is hurt all the other kids come around to help them,' the family matriarch said.

Anna and Michael celebrated their engagement, their future marriage, and being together for one year by getting matching tattoos.

'Hopefully they get something kinda like decent and discreet and nothing like crazified,' said Mama June.

After throwing around ideas the couple decided upon an anchor, with duck feathers coming out, and ducks flying above it.

On his it read 'Wherever You Go' and on her's it said 'I Will Go.'

Earlier the girls pleaded with Mama June to take them to a hair salon to get their hair conditioned.

When the matriarch refused the girls concocted their own treatment using shortening and eggs and rubbed it into their dry hair.

The girls even wrapped strands of hair in bacon to add to the treatment, much to Mama June's annoyance.

The first new episode broadcast on Thursday centered on Sugar Bear looking to spice up his sex life with Mama June as he went lingerie shopping for his frisky wife.

The head of the Honey Boo Boo household picked up some slinky undies for his zaftig wife.

'June's been a little frisky these days and I wanted to keep the frisky going so I thought maybe some sexy lingerie would help,' Sugar Bear told viewers.

He then headed into a store with his friend Jose, who he revealed 'knows a lot about sex.'

'I'm in the mood to look at some lingerie. As long as it looks good on a female, you know it looks good to me but I actually like stuff that I can tear off with my teeth,' Sugar Bear revealed.

He was then shown a large pair of black lace panties, which he snapped up.

Sugar Bear then told the assistant that he needed something else for Mama June as he explained that her fashion sense was 'stretch pants and sneakers.'

After looking through some bras and robes Sugar Bear decided on a red silk robe for his wife.

'June and I have been together for ten years now but she's still the cat's meow,' said Sugar Bear lovingly.

'We'll see how June likes the lingerie. And if that goes well I got some personal lady devices for later.'

Sugar Bear's romantic mood was stoked by frisky Mama June, who openly told the cameras how she had re-found her sexual appetite as she fed her husband spaghetti seductively in the kitchen.

'I mean I really don't know what it is, I mean I've been feeling really romantic with Sugar Bear lately,' she said to the cameras.

'I mean I'm 34 years old and that is when a woman normally reaches her sexual peak, and I've been peaking all over the place.'

And June's interest in Sugar Bear did not go unnoticed.

'Usually I have to do a lot of convincing to get some loving' from June, but these days, she ain't need no convincing,' said Sugar Bear.

After feeding each other spaghetti and kissing, June lead Sugar Bear back to the bedroom.

'Just like they say in the movies, I mean, I got my groove back. But it's hard grooving with kids in the house,' said June.

But it was not all straightforward as Sugar Bear had to bet his two daughters Pumpkin and Jessica $20 to give him some peace and quiet.

It did not take Honey Boo Boo long to find the intimate gifts Sugar Bear had bought for Mama June.

Alana was soon playing with an adult tickle toy under the impression it was a pom-pom Christmas present.

Earlier the family went to a farm in Gay, Georgia, to look at goats and other farm animals.

And Honey Boo Boo got an eyeful as a pair of goats began having sex in front of them.

But that did not put the family off as they decided to rent a goat for $5 a day and to care for it at their home.

The goat did not make friends as it got into Mama June's coupon stash and tore up the toilet paper supplies.

And after two days the goat was sent back to the farm.

I happened to come upon the show one Saturday and was prepared to be disgusted, but what I saw totally changed my feelings. So they're not all Hollywood in appearance and they could all stand to lose some weight, but they are a very close family and they've got good hearts - and they're quite funny. They really don't have a lot materially but seem very happy, which a lot of the world could learn from.

actually Anna is thin and June had lost 100 lbs and by the pictures it looks like she's lost even more weight than what she did when the family was thrown into the spotlight, Alana herself looks skinner than she did when the show started.

They are not pretty, well educated, their diets are awful, nor would Martha Stewart ever set foot in that house. That aside, they are a kind bunch, humble, and love each other, which is much more than I can say for many families of much greater socio-economic standing. Watching young and precocious Alana when she was still doing beauty pageants on Toddlers and Tiaras, she was one of the few children who weren't spoiled, tantrum throwing Veruca Salts who ordered their obedient , excuse-making mothers around; moreover, she was friendly towards the other girls, clapping for them and congratulating them, which tells a lot about the values with which she was raised. I'd much rather spend a day with them than that K family at any time.

I have met everyone in this family. They are as real as you can get. Sugarbear by far is the nicest most humbling man. People could learn a thing or two by these folks.
