Federal Prosecutors Say Norfolk Southern Should Be Fined For Graniteville Pollution

Graniteville, SC -- Federal prosecutors want Norfolk Southern Railroad to be fined for the Graniteville train wreck in 2005.


Prosecutors say the train wreck spilled chlorine and diesel fuel into the waterways, near Graniteville, violating the Clean Water Act.


Nine people were killed, when a train carrying cholrine gas hit another train, sending a poisonous cloud of gas over the town.
