Salisbury City are extremely disappointed that it has come light that prior to a Conference board meeting tonight sensitive information has been leaked to the Media.
The club following instructions from their legal advisers, IPS Law in Manchester have addressed a number of issues that the Conference raised, and provided documentation in support of it's application to secure reinstatement into the Conference South.
The Conference initially convened a board meeting for yesterday to discuss the club's application for reinstatement, however, this was delayed until tonight.
The result of the Conference delaying to meet for 24hrs is that the club effectively had no alternative other than to lodge a formal appeal to the Football Association today, being the deadline for appealing the decision to expel the club from the Conference.
As far as we are concerned, the club is now in new ownership. The new five person board have adhered to every requirement requested by the Conference and have been completely open and transparent in their dealings with them, including providing them with copies of all relevant documents evidencing the change of ownership.
We are extremely disappointed therefore, to learn that the Conference have briefed the media with what we consider to be sensitive and confidential information in advance of the board meeting which may well determine the very existence of the club.
We sincerely hope and trust that this leaking of information will not prejudice the decision of the board at tonight's meeting.
