Suspended over a selfie! Waiter ordered to leave work after asking Robin van Persie for a photo at exclusive Barbados restaurant
A waiter in Barbados has been suspended from his job for two weeks for taking a pictures with footballer Robin van Persie.
Kyson Forde was working at celebrity hangout The Cliff Restaurant on the Caribbean island when he spied his Manchester United hero and asked for a photo.
While van Persie happily agreed, Forde has since been suspended for two weeks for using his mobile phone in the dining area.
Meeting his hero: Kyson Forde (R) is a huge Manchester United fan, so when he spotted Robin van Persie in his restaurant, he asked him for a photo
A fellow worker was also given the harsh punishment for snapping the picture of the footballer and his waiter.
Striker van Persie was in Barbados for a week-long holiday with his wife Bouchra and two children, Shaqueel, eight, and Dina, five.
The star was enjoying a well-earned rest after battling it during the World Cup in Brazil and guiding Holland into third place.
Time out: Van Persie has been spotted enjoying some relaxation on the beach in Barbados with his wife Bouchra
Making a splash: The footballer has also been active on his trip, taking to the water in kayaks with his family
He had been snapped sunning himself on the exclusive Sandy Lane beach, where the likes of Simon Cowell like to spend their winter breaks.
And the £250,000-a-week footballer had obviously decided to treat his family to the special clifftop meal, which offers candle-lit al fresco dining overlooking the sea.
A source told the Sunday Mirror that Forde has worked at the restaurant for four years and has seen plenty of stars but couldn't resist asking for the photo when he spotted his footballing hero.

He said: 'Maybe Kyson shouldn’t have bothered RVP when he was out for a meal, but it seems an over-reaction.
'Kyson is a massive Man U fan and this was his one chance to get a snap with his hero.'
Manager Peter Harris confirmed two workers had been suspended for two weeks.
He told a Barbados newspaper: 'Mr Van Persie sent us a note today saying he had a wonderful time with us.'
