The Royal treatment: Teenage singer Lorde puts a price on fame toting a $3000 Prada handbag through the airport in Japan
Most teenagers work casual jobs to make a little pocket money, but not chart-topper Lorde.
On Friday the 17 year-old star was spotted carrying a black Prada bag worth three thousand dollars, the luxury purchase clearly one of the perks of being a Grammy-award winning artist.
And while some people might save such a glamorous bag for a special event, Lorde - real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor -chose the expensive accessory for her in-flight baggage flying to Japan last week ahead of her Sunday performance.

Apart from the elegant bag, featuring leather lining, steel hardware and metal logo on a signature triangle, the Tennis Court singer kept to her typical indie style, letting her trademark curls fly free.
The two-time Grammy-award winner was accompanied by her mother Sonja Yelich, 49.
Proud mum seemed to be channeling her daughter's edgy look, wearing an all black ensemble teamed with a rocker-style leather jacket.

The two landed in Japan ahead Lorde's performance at the Fuji Rock music festival on Sunday, with mum Sonja, a poet, suggesting Lorde's boyfriend James Lowe was with them by posting a photo of the couple together on Friday in what appeared to be a Japanese street.
The 24-year-old photographer keeps his relationship with the songstress under wraps but recently opened up about his other half.
In an Ono Field blog post from March James gushed about his partner and her success.
'As much as I miss her, I couldn’t be prouder of what she has achieved so far,' he revealed.
