'It's tough to fall in love at 17': Chloë Moretz reveals why she's not ready for a boyfriend while posing for edgy fashion shoot

She has made quite a name for herself as both a style icon and an up and coming actress.

And with her focus on her career, Chloë Moretz admitted she’s not looking for a serious relationship.

The 17-year-old actress graced the pages of Flare magazine’s September issue modelling several designer duds.

Chloë struck her best poses for the Canadian fashion bible as she opened up about her desires to live in the moment and not be tied down by a boyfriend.

‘I don’t want to have to feel like I have to watch my step, ‘cause I’m 17 and I shouldn’t have to,’ she explained.

A rising star in fashion, the young actress looked like a pro styled in items that capture her fledgling style icon status.

In the shoot, Chloë donned a red sequin mini dress paired with black ankle boots that featured gold buckle detailing.

In another shot she wore a short sleeved black and blue geometric dress and beige grey heels while her long tresses flowed.

While another stylish shot showed the Kick-Ass actress in a red and dark brown fringe dress for a boho chic high fashion look.

About her love life, Chloë confessed, ‘It’s a tough age to fall in love: people change so quickly.’

Unlike most of the young actors in the business, the Carrie star rather be single compared to her friends who are involved in long term relationships: ‘I’m like, "Dude, you’re wasting away your entire high-school years, and now you’re going to waste away your college years."

She elaborated, ‘You’re going to spend your entire life in a relationship and then you’re going to get married… and then you’re dead! So you lived your life in a relationship!’ That’s not my style.’

In her new movie If I Stay, Moretz plays Mia, a young girl who falls in love with her rocker boyfriend before she is involved in a car accident resulting in a life altering coma.

Chloë noted the difficulties of unexpected hardships and first love in playing Mia saying the hardest thing to do in acting is to make ‘someone laugh and fall in love.’

The actress, who is usually photographed in public with her older brother, Trevor, often chooses her family and friends as dates, instead of boys.

Chloë, who was recently pictured skateboarding down Venice Beach with David and Victoria Beckham's 15-year-old son Brooklyn, revealed the paparazzi never get it right when it comes to who she might be really dating.

‘When you’re with someone who’s just your friend, then they take photos, but when you’re out with your boyfriend, they never find out. It’s like, "You guys are so dumb; you’re missing your opportunity!"
