Who needs a photographer? Supermodel Daria Werbowy turns the camera on herself for new fashion campaign comprised entirely of selfies

There's no doubt 'selfie' is the word of the year, and now it is the inspiration behind a new campaign for Equipment, starring Daria Werbowy.

In the images, which were shot by the 30-year-old Ukrainian Canadian supermodel over a period of two weeks, she shows off her famously versatile looks, posing in an array of different wigs, outfits and settings.

Each photo from the shoot, which took place in Ireland, sees her modeling luxury shirts from the fashion brand.

In one image, the supermodel sports a black Joan Jett-style hairdo and a black button-down shirt, posing against a white wall.

Another shows her striking a pose on a windowsill in a brown shirt and blue jeans, her cropped hair bleached blonde.

For Daria, who keeps her personal life private, the project was an emotional roller-coaster. 'There were days I just wanted to vomit, like, "Ah! I can't look at myself!"' she told Vogue.com.

She added that turning the lens on herself for once felt strange and unnatural. 'I thought, "Oh my God, how am I going to take five or six pictures of myself?"' she said.

'It felt really gluttonous and self-indulgent. I'm always being put into other people's creative ideas.'

Daria, who has been modeling since the tender age of 14, recently opened up to Harper's Bazaar about why she took a break from the industry to focus on her well-being.

'I took a risk a couple of years ago where I decided to do the minimal amount that I could get away with, because I physically and mentally couldn’t handle it anymore,' she told the magazine in January.

Explaining the decision, she continued: 'It's like, you have everything you want, what you dreamt of is coming true, you can’t buy anything else to make you happy, so then you think, Well, what else is there? And you have to leave.'

So she took time out to travel the world, eventually settling in Cork, Ireland, where she currently lives with her boyfriend, a carpenter named Tom.

One of the world's highest-paid models, according to Forbes, Daria has previously starred in campaigns for Celine, Isabel Marant and Gucci, and she has been the face of Lancome since 2004.
