New parents Kerry Washington and Jimmy Kimmel bond over naming their newborn daughters after their grandmothers
She's a new mum who gave birth to a daughter named Isabelle in April.
So Kerry Washington, 37, had a lot to chat about with talk show host Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday, who himself just welcomed a daughter with wife Molly McNearney.
During an appearance to promote the new season of her political thriller Scandal, Kerry discovered their baby girls have one major thing in common - they are both named after their great grandmothers.

Kerry revealed to Jimmy that she had heard he and wife Molly named their daughter Jane after his grandmother and remarked 'Mine is too,' referring to her own daughter and granny, both called Isabelle.
Jimmy then joked: 'Your baby's name is Isabelle and mine is Jane. We should swap them and see if our families notice!'
Kerry - who married Isabelle's father Nnamdi Asomugha earlier this year - also thanked the chat show host for sending her some of her yummy goodies while she was expecting back in February.

She said: 'You did something very kind last time I came. There's nothing more kind to do for a pregnant lady than [to give her] a box full of frozen deliciousness. It was amazing!'
Kerry also had high praise for President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, saying: 'He and his amazing wife, they're just genuine, authentic, fantastic people who are trying to do their best for the country. They're awesome!'
Jimmy also complimented the brunette beauty on her post-baby glamour, exclaiming: 'I can't believe you had a baby and you look like this!'
Adding: 'It's against the rules!'. A blushing Kerry responded: 'Aw, you're kind. You're such a good friend!'
The raven haired star looked gorgeous in a
pretty minidress in berry shades with cobalt blue pumps putting on a
leggy display as she left the studios after her appearance.
Teetering
on her glamourous satin heels, the new mother gave a wave to the
cameras with her long manicured tips beaming from ear to ear.

Looking suitably coiffed for the afternoon of filming, the brunette beauty wore her glossy locks with a curl in the front and some big flicks in the back.
She
dressed up her daytime ensemble with dark make-up and a gloss of pink
lipstick, looking camera-ready as she stepped out of the studio with a
navy blue tote bag in tow.
The star arrived at the studio wearing a similarly feminine floral, but this time a longer, more demure red midi dress.
Kerry
flashed her ring finger as she gave a wave to her waiting fans on
entering the studio before being dolled up for her TV appearance.

She pulled together a vintage look, which featured a red tapestry print and a modest black leather shoulder bag, which she teamed with a classic pair of Louboutins.
The
actress has just recently returned to work after giving birth to her
first daughter Isabelle with her husband, NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha.
Scandal, in which Washington features as the lead female Olivia Pope, is a political thriller centered around the White House in America and returns for the fourth season this August.
