A girl's best friend! Miley Cyrus carries her new pooch Emu in her arms as she heads to hotel after Philadelphia concert date

She was so devastated by the death of her puppy Floyd that she sought the help of a psychic, it emerged this week.

But hopefully Miley Cyrus's new cute pooch Emu will help mend her broken heart.

And she was certainly keeping the Rough Collie rescue close by as she carried him in her arms back from her concert in Philadelphia on Saturday night.

The Wrecking Ball singer, who is in the middle of her US Bangerz tour, held on tight to Emu as she returned to her hotel from her sell out concert.

She dressed in her favourite, ripped, cut off jeans, steel toe ankle boots and a cropped, white T-shirt which displayed her toned stomach.

Last week TMZ spoke with a Hollywood animal psychic who had helped Miley in the aftermath of Floyd's death in April.

The Siberian husky was killed when it was attacked by a coyote at the Hannah Montana star's LA home.

Medium Melissa Bacelar told TMZ: 'Floyd just wanted to let Miley know that there was nothing she could have done.

'That even if she was at home she couldn't have stopped it.  He was just a free spirit, his life with her was amazing, she was a great mom to him to him. They always had a good time together.'

She added: 'The coyote thing wasn't his favourite but he knew there was nothing he could do.'

And she told The Mirror newspaper:  'It was particularly hard as [Miley] wasn’t there when Floyd died, so there would have been a huge amount of guilt.

'I connect with the dog telepathically. Some will give me actual words but, most of the time, I will get images and feelings, which I then pass on to the owner.'
