All good things have to come to an end.

But this seemed particularly tough for White Collar's Matt Bomer after he tweeted about the 'rough, rough day' on Monday.

The jolly actor posed up for a series of photographs with his co-stars from the hit USA Networkd show as they mustered together on set on final time.

The suave 36-year-old said: 'Last day at White Collar-I love this family so much. Thank you to everyone who supported us over the years-we wouldn't be here without you!'

He also posted a note from co-star Willie Garson, who said: 'Our last day together......I don't have words for this....rough rough day for sure.'

Matt has had huge success in the role of conman and forger, who becomes an FBI consultant in exchange for early release from prison.

The show itself has also done well, being nominated for a slew of awards and posting consistently high viewing figures.

But while there were tears of sadness on the set, there was also a lot of joy as the popular cast hammed it up together one last time.

Matt, who has three children with husband Simon Halls, seemed to be having a great time with Marsha Thomason, Tim DeKay, Willie Garson, and Sharif Atkins during a leisurely bunch.

Manchester born broad Marsha, 38, also seemed to be revelling in the atmosphere after posting a series of pictures of ythe day.

She tweeted: 'I've hung up Diana's suit and I'm on my way home. I've loved being a part of the White Collar family. Thank you to all who've sent messages of kindness and love. Your support has meant so much to all of us at White Collar these past 6 years.'
