It was clear why Jason Derulo, 24, couldn't resist locking lips with his girlfriend Jordin Sparks.

For the 24-year-old American Idol winner looked incredible as she bared a sliver of her toned midsection in a floral bikini top and matching trousers on the blue carpet of the Teen Choice Awards.

The couple tenderly exchanged a smooch as they attended the event in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Jordin teamed her high-waisted trousers with a pair of sexy black heels that showed off her perfect pedicure.

She kept her make-up simple with just an application of mascara and a coat of eyeshadow, and pulled her hair back into a no-fuss ponytail.

A few golden bracelets and a matching necklace added a touch of glam to her summer-ready ensemble.

Meanwhile, Jason added a pop of colour to his all-black ensemble with a bright red leather jacket.

A soft black shirt and trousers were all the Talk Dirty singer needed to stay comfortable for the event ahead, which saw him win the honour for Choice Summer Music Star: Male.

Due to perform at the event, the Talk Dirty singer looked to be shaking off a few pre-show jitters in the presence of his long-term girlfriend.

Jason admitted in an interview with ABC he penned the song Marry Me for Jordin, though confessed he's still waiting for the perfect moment to propose.

'That’s the reason why I wrote the song in the first place...because I wanted her to know that when the time is right then it will happen,' Jason confessed.

He added: 'When I do get down on one knee, it’s going to be one of the most amazing experiences of my life, but when the time is right.'

And though he did lose out on Choice Male Artist to Ed Sheeran on Sunday night, Jason did beat out John Legend, Luke Bryan, Sam Smith, and Pharrell Williams for the Choice Summer Music Star: Male surfboard.

On top of taking home to award, Jason performed his hits Wiggle and Talk Dirty at the event.
