Winona Ryder cracks a rare funny face as she shows off her silly side for Rag & Bone's latest campaign

Winona Ryder might be known for her dark roles in films like Heathers and Girl, Interrupted, but the actress shows off her silly side for Rag & Bone's fall 2014 campaign.

The 42-year-old makes a variety of rarely seen funny facial expressions in the black and white images, alternately raising her eyebrows and pursing her lips together.

Ms Ryder sports a cropped haircut and tailored separates from the label's fall collection in the ads, which photographer Glen Luchford shot in New York's Coney Island in May.

The campaign also stars actor Michael Pitt, who was the face of Prada's spring 2012 menswear collection.

Marcus Wainwright, managing partner of Rag & Bone, told WWD that Ms Ryder was chosen for her ‘beautiful, timeless quality.’

He added: ‘To us, Winona Ryder is a bona-fide icon. One of the things that makes her so cool is that although she has this incredible career, she isn’t interested in being a movie star.’

This is Ms Ryder's first major fashion campaign in more than a decade.

She previously posed for Marc Jacobs's spring 2003 ads, after famously wearing his designs to her 2001 shoplifting trial.

The Heathers star isn't the only 90s icon to play muse for Rag & Bone.

The brand recently tapped Jerry Seinfeld to model for its spring 2015 men's lookbook.
