She's a horse whisperer! Steve Irwin's wildlife warrior daughter Bindi, 16, says bonding with animals gives her the 'kind of happiness that fills every corner of the soul'

By Danielle Gusmaroli For Daily Mail Australia

She can take herself very seriously indeed and is not afraid to even tackle one of the world's most powerful women, Hillary Clinton.

But self-titled 'wildlife warrior' Bindi Irwin, the 16-year-old daughter of late Crocodile Hunter Steve, is at her happiest at one with nature and bonding with the animal kingdom.

The outspoken environmentalist planted a tender kiss on the face of a golden stallion as she enjoyed a sun-drenched day feeding horses in a stable on Wednesday.

Wearing a floral monochrome dress, and with her hair cascading in loose waves down her back, the Queensland-born presenter appeared relaxed and carefree as she went about her day.

Loving every minute of the experience, she took to Instagram to express her delight, encapsulating the moment with the words: 'That kind of happiness that fills every corner of your soul, that's what we are searching for.'

She went on: 'Let the stardust of beautiful moments sprinkle your heart and fill your days. Let yourself feel these moments with every part of you and save them for a rainy day.'

The Logie and Emmy Award winning TV personality is well known for her outspoken views.

Last year, she snapped at the heels of former U.S. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton after an essay she wrote for Mrs Clinton's e-journal was heavily re-worked by editors.

Although it is unlikely Mrs Clinton had a hand editing Bindi's 1,000-word essay on conservation, the Australian was reportedly furious about the re-worked presentation and refused to allow it to go into print, her mother Terri told.

Bindi's mother, Mrs Terri Irwin, widow of the crocodile hunter, told Sydney's Daily Telegraph last year that her daughter was less than impressed with the treatment she had received from the US State Department.

'It's interesting that she was asked to write an essay about the environment and included the consideration of population (growth) and they returned her essay edited and complete edited that out.'

Mrs Irwin, who is American by birth, said Bindi wrote to Hillary Clinton's organisation later asking 'What happened to freedom of speech? This is my opinion and I don't want that edited out.'

More recently, Bindi used her celebrity status to urge young women not to feel pressurised into dress provocatively and to recognise the importance of loving the person within.

In an interview with NewsCorp in June she took the opportunity to send a message to teenagers saying: 'A lot of times I want to grab these girls and say "look ... in 10 years you’ll regret this. Don’t try so hard. A pair of jeans and a T-shirt is just as gorgeous and even makes you look classier".'

Special Bond: The teenager often shares pictures of her mother Terri and in a recent post captioned a loving shot of them at her 16th onesie -themed birthday party: 'Just wanted to tell you how beautiful you are'

With her father who died when he was stabbed in the heart by a stingray in September 2006 – he was once one of the most well-known faces on American TV with his crocodile hunting series - Bindi is extremely close to her mother and brother, Robert.

She frequently posts pictures of her mother expressing how close they are.

Last month she celebrated her 16th birthday with an animal onesie-themed Sweet 16 Jungle Birthday Party at Australia Zoo in Queensland.
