EXCLUSIVE: 'It was very interesting': Australian model Shanina Shaik reveals what it was like to witness the Orlando Bloom and Justin Bieber row in Ibiza

By Maria Lewis

It was the fight no one saw coming, least of all Australian model Shanina Shaik who was quietly enjoying a meal at celebrity hot spot Cipriani in Ibiza when a fight broke out between Justin Bieber and Orlando Bloom.

The now famous incident - which was caught on camera - took the Victoria's Secret beauty and her table of celebrity friends by surprise when it broke out in front of them late last month.

The 23-year-old is back in Australia for several modelling commitments and spoke about the incident for the first time, saying that she was 'shocked' by the fight.

'It was very interesting,' she told The Daily Mail Australia.

'I wasn't expecting it that night. I was having dinner and it was happening right in front of me.

'What I saw in the video is exactly how it took place.

'There were so many people there, it was ridiculous, and we were in the middle of eating when it happened.

'It just kind of blew over in a couple of minutes and everyone got back to what they were doing.'

Shaik - who recently finished filming a guest judging role on Australia's Next Top Model - said she didn't bring the incident up with her friend of several years, Bieber.

'I didn't want to discuss it with him, it wasn't my place,' she said.

'We didn't mention it.'

Based in New York, Shaik has been back in Australia for almost two weeks which is considered a long stint for the stunner who usually has to make-do with whirlwind trips.

The highlight of the trip so far - which has included shooting a Just Jeans campaign - has been flying to the Gold Coast to judge Australia's Next Top Model auditions, filling in for Jennifer Hawkins.

'I loved it! It was so great being on the other side of the catwalk for once,' said Shaik, who got her start on a similar reality series as a teenager, Make Me A Supermodel.

'This can be such a tough industry, even I got told "No" more than "Yes" all of the time and you have to be thick skinned.

'I tried to be helpful so the girls could learn something as well, because I have a lot of experience in the business but I'm still not expert... yet.'

Shaik said she enjoyed the shooting experience so much, that she would love to do more TV work in the future and expand her options.
