Anne Hathaway had a probing question for fellow Oscar winner Kate Winslet.

The 31-year-old actress was asked by UK movie magazine Total Film to start a 'video chain letter' of actors, writers and directors asking a question of the magazine's next guest.

'Um... I can't talk to her, I'm so shy!,' Anne proclaimed as she buried her head in her hands.

'Um... Kate Winslet. What is your favourite breakfast? That is my question,' Anne asked while promoting Rio 2.

Kate, 38, was promoting Divergent and easily fielded Anne's question that was shown to her on a tablet as part of the five-month long celebrity video chain letter project.

'Oh, Annie! She's so sweet. Oh, god, what is my favourite breakfast? My favourite breakfast in the whole wide world, real treaty favourite breakfast, is eggs benedict,' Kate answered.

'I feel like you wrote down that question for him! Or he's drunk,' responded the 39-year-old former model.

The Oscar-winning actress said it 'wasn't kosher to be a model-turned-actress' at the start of her career.

'There was really no role models that were doing that successfully. So it was definitely like walking in and just denying the fact that you ever did any modeling and thank god there was no internet back then,' she responded.

Charlize then asked 50-year-old English actor Andy Serkis what his last meal would be.

'Well, Charlize, my answer would be very simply the food that I grew up on,' Andy replied while promoting Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes.

'Very poor spaghetti with very rubbishy cheese sauce and chunks of tuna from a tin. Sorry! I'm not very glamorous in that respect,' Andy said.

The star of the Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit films then had a question for Guardians Of The Galaxy lead actor Chris Pratt.

'You're surrounded probably by a number of people in leotards and head-mounted cameras. Is this freaky?' Andy asked.

Chris, 35, responded that it was 'freaky certainly at first.' Thoughtful response: Chris fielded the question and then posed one to his movie's director James Gunn

He added that it he was able to perform opposite actors 'rather than tennis balls' and was able to 'create a real organic chemistry that was captured on film.'

The six-minute, 42-second video ended with Guardians Of The Galaxy director James Gunn answering a question from Chris about the influence his dog had on the character Rocket Raccoon.

Gunn said his dog Wesley informed both Rocket and the tree-like humanoid character Groot quite a bit.
