David Beckham's presence on the beach in Malibu on August 13 was unmistakeable.

With his famously tattooed, athletic physique on display in all its glory in just a pair of blue boardshorts, all eyes were on the British hunk as he soaked up the hot summer sun during an outing with his kids.

Also joining in on the fun was good friend Gordon Ramsay and his wife, Tana, though despite the famously foul-mouthed chef having slimmed down in recent years after discovering his passion for marathons and triathlons, he no doubt baulked at having to go shirtless next to the heartthrob.

Proving to be a good influence to his children, the soccer stud was seen wielding a bottle of sunscreen at intervals throughout the day, spraying it all over his golden skin, taking special
care to coat his face to protect it from the harsh UVA and UVB rays.

At 39, the star is certainly doing something right, his looks holding up well despite his hectic international jet-setting lifestyle and running around after four very active kids.

Speaking of his pride and joy, David was ever the doting dad during the outing, spotted proudly taking photos of youngest son Cruz as he hit the waves on a surfboard, his dad clearly impressed
by his athletic prowess.

He also made sure to spend plenty of time with his precious daughter Harper, diligently carrying
a bright red bucket as he helped her build castles in the sand.

In need of some refreshment after all their exertion under the blazing sun, he then treated the brood to ice-cream, seen sweetly sharing one with the adorable three-year-old, who is the spitting image
of her famous mother, Victoria Beckham.

While both David and Victoria and their kids and Gordon and Tana and their brood all reside primarily in the UK, both families spend a significant amount of time in the States with their various work endeavours.

Of course, nothing beats an LA summer, so no-one could blame them for heading for greener pastures as they made the most of their summer holidays.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, David delighted fans when he accepted Ryan Seacrest's nomination to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that's sweeping the celebrity world right now.

Not failing to disappoint, the ripped star stripped down to just a pair of grey jeans for the soaking, posting the video to his Facebook page as he then nominated Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan
and Leonardo DiCaprio to take part.
