She's found her Reason! Carlos Santana's daughter Stella releases her first single

You could say that music is in her genes.

And now at the age of 29 Carlos Santana's daughter Stella has followed him into the industry with her first single.

Her track, The Reason, has an R&B feel and is very different from the rock and Latin American fusion sound that her guitarist virtuoso father pioneered.

Stella has had musical aspirations since the age of five, when she began playing piano and guitar.

However, you wouldn't be able to tell of her instrumental prowess from the recently released track as her vocals are set to a very electronic heavy track.

Collaborating with the daughter of the Smooth musician was producer Hardy Indiigo, known for his work on Madonna's hit single Superstar.

The single is reminiscent of a Nineties R&B/ pop song and nothing makes this more evident then the lyric early in the song 'I've been watching you' sung in the exact cadence as the 1996 hit My Boo by Ghost Town DJ's.

As she is in her late Twenties, Stella did not jump straight into a music career right away as she attended college and explored other options.

According to Yahoo, the artist came back to doing music and songwriting as a way of channeling her emotions.

Stella seemed to be excited about her debut as tweeted a simple 'Tomorrow...' to her near 1,300 followers.

Then shortly after the American Internet corporation music page posted the track she posted: '#TheReason is up! Ju wanna listen tu eh?'

Stella has a lot to live up to in order to have a career like her father as he was named as No. 20 on Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All-Time.

Carlos, 67, has also totaled 10 Grammy Awards and three Latin Grammys in his storied career which has lasted almost 50 years.
