Looking sweet! Jennifer Garner dresses down in casual blue as she treats daughter Seraphina to an ice-cream cone

Jennifer Garner got the thumbs up from daughter Seraphina on Tuesday by treating her to an ice-cream during a day out in Los Angeles.

The 42-year-old actress looked casual in a fitted blue sweater and skinny jeans as she made an appearance in suburban Brentwood with the five-year-old – one of three children with Oscar-winning Ben Affleck.

Jennifer rounded off her ensemble with a pair of black slip-on shoes, while accessories were pared back to a simple silver neck-chain and a pair of tinted Wayfarers.

In high spirits, the actress paid a visit to Brentwood Country Mart with Seraphina before treating her to an ice-cream cone.

The youngster looked adorable in a multi-coloured print dress as she tucked in while her mother gently guided her across the street.

Jennifer’s latest film - Men, Women, & Children - is set to be released nationwide in the United States on October 17.

The film explores the importance of modern technology - i.e. text messaging and the Internet - in the lives of various teenagers and adults.

Adam Sandler also stars opposite Jennifer as a fellow parent who turns to technology to find a connection outside of his marriage.

Last week the Alias actress assisted her beau with completing the ALS ice bucket challenge in front of their pool at their LA home.

As Ben accepted the challenge, and nominated his wife, Jen had the duty of pouring the bucket of ice water on him.

But to her surprise, the Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice star didn't take the chilled liquid so lightly.

The moment the freezing water hit, Ben decided to pull his wife into their swimming pool.
