Meet my mini-mes! Mike Myers introduces his son Spike and baby daughter Sunday to David Letterman on The Late Show

By Jennifer Pearson for MailOnline

Mike Myers opened up his family album for the first time during his appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman on Thursday.

The 51-year-old funny man shared photos of his two tiny tots Spike and Sunday and explained the stories behind their unusual names.

When a photo of three-year-old Spike bundled up in beanie and woolly coat was projected on a big screen, Mike broke into a bashful grin and gushed, 'He's fantastic. He chose that hat by the way.'

Mike was speechless with pride when a picture of his four-month-old baby Sunday appeared showing her with pink cheeks and wearing a cosy outfit.

Even Letterman was impressed enough to say, 'That's a baby for you.'

Mike told Letterman said he named Spike 'for my dad. Spike is very common Liverpool nickname is your name is Eric. Also because I love Spike Milligan (poet, comic and radio star).'

What's in a name: Mike said that three-year-old Spike was named after his father and also after poet-comic Spike Milligan

So sweet: The Shrek star said that he and wife Kelly Tisdale named their daughter Sunday because they 'hate Sundays - I'm not even kidding - and we wanted to turn it around and make it a good thing'

Funny anecdotes: Mike was full of stories about his boy Spike, who helps with diaper changing and calls Sunday 'Baby Sister'

As for why he and wife Kelly Tisdale named their second born Sunday Molly Myers, the Shrek star said: 'Me and my wife Kelly hate Sundays - I'm not even kidding - and we wanted to turn it around and make it a good thing.'

'That sounds like a song from the '60s,' Letterman quipped about the name Sunday Molly.

Mike - who is gearing up to reprise his role as the partying, flashy dressing British spy in  Austin Powers 4 - also boasted that his son is 'super funny.'

Big brother: The funny man said Spike is 'super funny' too especially when he's asked to fetch a new diaper...'And he goes, "I'm on it!"'

Pat on the back: Mike said Spike is modest when praised 'and he turns around and goes, "Just doing my job."'

The comedian went on: 'When Sunday came home, he was like, "Oh, this is great. Is she staying here?" I said yeah. I said, Spike, one day, Sunday will be your best friend. And he said, "We'll see."'

'I'll say, "Baby Sister" because he refuses to call her Sunday. It's always Baby Sister. I'll say, "Baby Sister needs a diaper," and it's like four feet away.

'And I said, "Can you be a big brother and get the diaper?" And he goes, "I'm on it!" He runs over there and he does this thing as if it's really hard... as if he had to go under barbwire, swim a lake, take enemy fire. It's like four feet away!

'He knows it's a joke, which is fantastic. I said, "You're a great big brother, Spike," and he turns around and goes, "Just doing my job."'
